Default Front Hub (Steering Knuckle)

Guys

I'm putting the front suspension and hubs back on my GT as i've gone for steel upper a arms and fitting some new big brakes.

I have the drivers side RHD hub or steering knuckle back on and bolted up top and bottom but what concerns me is the hub is very stiff to move by hand, is this correct ?

are you talking about the hub flange where the wheel bolts on?? This would be the wheel bearings possibly being too tight
are you talking about stiction in the spindle axis, this might change when the there is weight on the suspension and the ball joints find there normal seating area

Mrmerlin

Its the spindles axis i find very stiff

So once weight is back on the front end it should improve

yes as the ball joints return to their center positions they will move freely, my guess is the upper BJ is the one thats causing the tightness

This may be due to the upper ball joint now limiting the suspension travel in out direction, causing it to bind.
If this is the case, it should improve when the suspension is loaded and settled, you can verify this by jacking up slightly below the lower control arm.
