A really long 19 is what I use. Not much room in there.

You need a flexible-head ratchet, a 19mm six-point socket and 3 feet of cheater bar.

Sears has flex head gear wrenches that you can lock in a bent position this is a great tool to get the bolts loose, you can use a 19mm wrench on the other end if you need more leverage

I use a regular 19mm wrench and then snipe it with another 19mm wrench. I never have issues breaking them free. Once the first turn or two has been done they always come out with my fingers.

What ever you do make sure the wrench is held on there good, if it slips and rounds the head off, you got a problem.

I have a guy use a long bar hold the wrench on so it can not come off at a angle.

I wasn't able to get them off when I did my engine rebuild. I pulled the engine out with the bellhousing still attached.

Having recently needing to remove these, i feel for you. i tried everything mentioned here. what ended up working was taking a torch and heating my box wrench and bending the wrench exactly where i wanted. it took a couple tries but it's perfect now and i'll have it for next time.

thanks, looks like i'm of to k-mart, opps sears as soon as they open, I have a 19mm from them with the right angle, i think i'll get another and rotozip the open end off so my torque intensifier will fit over it.

That's the ticket. For those of you following along at home: (I've never heard this term before either) I assume 'sniping it' means to use the open end of the one on the bolt with the box end of another wrench of a similar size. Those bolts are a b!tch. After you break them free, a 19mm gear wrench will do the trick.

I think Bill Ball had a write-up about this from when he did the rear main seal. I'd do a search on that.

here is a cool one for you, try and follow me here

step 1 ) Ok 19mm combo wrench on the bolt with the box end (fully round) on the bolt and the open end now in the air

step 2) now 19mm is very close to 3/4" so now take a 3/4" breaker bar and use the square portion which you would usually plug a socket onto and insert that into the open end of the 19mm combo wrench. This is a tight enough fit that you can use allot of torgue on the long 3/4" breaker bar and it will go through the wrench and pop that bolt free.

Install isnt as difficult, the standard length 19mm wrench should allow you to get the recommended torque on the bolt when you tighten

I wish i had a picture of this little trick

Default Problem solved!

After an unfortunate incident involing a roto-zip, the cut off end of a $10.99 19mm craftmans wrench fit nicely into a 1" water pipe 2ft long. Passenger side was a piece of cake, on the drivers side I had to remove the FPR. It only took 1/10 of a turn to lossen them up.

Thanks for the help!
