Yes, and the engine and tranny types appear proper. S4 5-speeds ended in 1989.

Those engine and tranny codes are GT-specific. All the '90 5-speeds were GT's.

Thank You both!
I'm just curious what the price range is for one in really good shape with 63K miles..... '89 S4 GP White/Black '76 912E Silver/Black sunroof |

Thank You! I probably could pick up the car, however risk losing the wife.

If it's the white one with a bunch of option codes, there's a discussion here:
http://reutterwerk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14431 I'd want to look it over thoroughly due to the Carfax info, but if it checks out OK you'd have yourself what appears to be a very nice GT without breaking the bank. Prices vary widely, but I'd expect to pay high teens to mid twenties for a nice one with that mileage.

JWise,
Thanks, yeah that's it I just saw it listed. I'm 20 miles south, and was thinking of looking at it. However, I'm not really in the market for another Porsche although it's somewhat tempting, if it can be had for much less? '89 S4 GP White/Black '76 912E Silver/Black sunroof |

I don't understand how people get into these nuptial arrangements where it's in any way the spouse's business what cars one chooses to buy.

Ptuomov,
I bought both of my Porsche's without consulting with my significant other. I am still suffering from hearing loss! ![]() '89 S4 GP White/Black '76 912E Silver/Black sunroof |

So what's the downside at this point? An angry pantomime?

My wife doesn't care if I buy a car or not. She would rather have me at home in the garage working on my toys than chasing skirts like so many of her clients husbands do. Over the years she has heard some real horror stories. Women tell thier hairdresser things they would never tell anyone else. I'am lucky, she's a fantastic woman.

See this page here for the data from the UK Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders: http://www.928.org.uk/smmt-uksales.html In 1990, was 1 manual S4 sold, 178 Auto S4's, and 78 GT's. Its conceivable that they were in fact MY89 cars what weren't sold until 90 or 91, however I've been told by a very long-term 928er from the UK who knows the cars well that there's at least a 90 manual S4 out there. It might be possible to get the VIN's - I'll ask on the UK list.
