Default 928 with Lambo Doors?

I was wondering if anyone has seen a 928 with Lambo doors? The new smaller parking spaces really suck. Having Lambo's installed seem to be the way to go. Anyone done it?

Of all the cars that could REALLY use an upward swinging door, the 928 is one of them. Every 928 owner becomes a contorsionist at one point or another trying to get out in a tight parking space. When opening a passenger 928 door for a lady, I have many times used my hand as a sacrifice to save my door (and the car next to us)...

I'll never install these on my cars...just saying it would be practical... UNLIKE a Honda...

Wow. This is something I must invest in. I forgot about these!

Where can I buy the kit?

Not sure if "Lambo" doors would look right on a 928 since 928s have full framed doors.

I like the gull wing doors on that 928 from the middle east... I thought those looked REALLY COOL!

Not sure if they would look right or function properly but they sure would be practical.

If the parking space is THAT tight, I'll pass it up. One chip on my rub strip was enought for me thank you.

You will need the hinges that move the door out a few inches then up. Same as late model corvette. Only question is if the front jamb fender area is wide enough to accomodate the hinge.

Once in the car you may find it impossible to reac the door to close it. Coolest with actuaries but you need 2 each side (one out, one up).

Done a few IMHO more pain than pleasure to live with.

Now you know one reason the 928 wasn't all that popular in Europe. Try parking one in a narrow parking garage over there...

Same in San Francisco, BTW.

I found a few sites with "butterfly" door setups for the 928.... But imagine if the gas cylinder failed..... Talk about missing fingers and limbs... 928 doors are HEAVY...

There are places that sell the hinges, and then you have a shop weld them in for you... They are universal, for any car... That's why you see so many of them now.
