I'll say it just because no one else has...

"THAT WILL BUFF RIGHT OUT!"

Good luck on your quest.

Well here is the LATEST guess. Price is right and has all it's paper work so one more time. I bought (5) 190 sl Mercedes once to build one good one. Then sold the parts for more than I paid for all the cars.
Difference with this car is Brumos is looking at it for me. They sort of owe me a couple of favors.

If you plan to put a lot of effort into making the car nice you should start with a car with original paint in good shape.

Agree 100% but this is a get your feet wet car. Then I will convert it to a track car or? and get a nice low miles GT at a later date.

If you ultimate goal is to get a low mileage GT, then why waste your time and money fixing up all these project car? Just go and get that GT or at least a 5-speed.

Same twisted thinking that caused me to buy a C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5 Corvette. I sort of do that like my dad did. We sold all the Corvettes except the 50th Anniversary Edition Convertible which we added to our permanent collection.
I just like to learn about the series, try each one, then pass it on to someone else. My first Porsche was a 924 then I got the 951 now I am trying the 928.
Forums like this make it enjoyable to do that.
I also have a high school person who is working with me and learning about these type of cars so he can have a future in other than just parts changing. Sort of a win, win if you know what I mean.

Looks like some mold/mildew in there. Take a close look for any water damage.

Where do you see it? Brain from Brumos is going to meet me at a dealer in Florida who will handle the transaction if I buy it. This is NOT an Evil Bay car.
Found another in Savannah but it is a 5 speed and I need to get an automatic so the wife can drive it.

The last picture of the door panel. It may not be water damage, it could be just from the car sitting for a while. I'm working on a 83 911 SC that sat in a Georgia garage for 20 years and the interior was completly covered in mold and mildew.

I get it. You are definitely in the right place too. Good luck, and I look forward to following the progress.

I've got just the right 'next step' for ya!

My 85 EURO has been sitting in the back yard fo a little over a year - running well when parked. TONS of upgrades. Nice interior.
THE PAINT IS SHOT! Clear coat started going about 18 months ago...no $ to get her right, now.
Will sell her for the $5K i have in upgrades...see my sig line!

Belive it or not I have customers ASKING abour my Porsche hunt and want leads on cars if I get any. With the inspection of the Blue car coming out with JUST the leather, A/C and heat DOA looks like it will be coming home Friday.
Everything elses checks out and the CARFAX is clean.
I will be posting leads on out Yahoo Group and our 4 websites when this quest is done and we move to the restoration and preservation stage.
