How many and where is there a gathering of the Land sharks? Joined PCA and the 928 Registry.

I live in Florence. PCA groups that I know of meet in Greenville and Columbia. Don't know of any gathering specifically for sharks (but would like to). PCA groups are generally pretty unimpressed with 928s.

Depends where you are, my local region Palmetto is not 911 centric and snobbist's. A lot of us have Porsches other then 911's. Not really anything 928 related going on here in SC and down there in Aiken there may not be much going on. My region usually has a monthly drive or gathering of some sort. For ekeeton, check out the monthly Sunday drives that the Myrtle Beach group does, we get over to Florence once in a while on our drives.

Right now with the Holidays there are not a lot of events going on. Peachstate is having it's 50th event in January and the Rolex race in in January also. There are also a few DE's coming up if your into that.

The greenville group used to meet once a week at a restaurant (since closed) off Haywood road near the mall. A small mix, did not see any 928 there. Suggestion - Greenville is a good place to have a meet and then drive up to Saluda, NC and take RT. 176 from Saluda to Tryon, NC.

Wildest road I have ever been on.

Sorry Josh, I forgot about the Charleston region. Since I'm working on a project down here in Charleston, I plan on attending one your meetings one day. I also didn't mean to imply that any PCA group was snobbish, only that there were few if any shark owners and so not a lot of 928 interest.

As they say, it's not about the cars, it's the people, and the Greenville region has a great group of people.

+1 on Rt. 176. There are quite a few other good roads to drive just north of Greenville. (I had a work project up there for a couple of years.)

There are seveal 928 owners in the Greenville area, with me included. However, I have only seen them driving around and have not had a chance to meet them.

I am always up for a shark meet, but the only time that happens is Sharks In the Mountains.

Some of the Greenville members show up at our weekly Saturday breakfast in Charleston every once in a while, they are a good bunch. And many of the regions around don't have the 911 mentaility, but there are some pockets around, not as bad as some other areas.

We Atlanta sharks try to get together on occasion and you're more than welcome to join in. Aiken is not that far away. I'm hoping to get a few together for a timing belt/water pump party very soon. I'm changing one of mine and a friend has two to be done. I'll be making a post to announce it once the details are worked out. Hope you can make it.

I'm in Charleston as well. Josh is right.. the local chapter does have alot of boxsters and the occasional 968. I let my membership slide as I found I didn't have any time to get to the meetings :-( Heard about the sunday brunches though.. I know two others beside myself who have 928's in the Charleston Area, one guy has a car that is 8 cars later than mine on the assembly line in 79. the other guy is in mt. p. who has a white and burgundy 84 I think... Everyone PM me anytime....

Thanks all, if you go back in time to 2005 and 2005 my wife and I sponsored the Aiken Exotic Car Festival and try to run leather seminars for groups. we just finised one in Atlanta for MB and Jaguar. I did notice with the 951 the OH it's not a 911 at a couple of places. Back then I had the Testarossa and that was sort of the end of one up if you know what I mean.
We have a neat place in Aiken at Houndslake C.C. that would love to host a shark feeding during their Sunday Brunch.
Please keep us up on dates since this is probably one of the most fun cars we have owned in a long time.

The Greenville (Upstate SC) area has several 928 guys, both street and track. At one DE last year at Carolina Motorsports there were FIVE 928s at the event. Our area is very active and "multi-porsche" friendly. We have about 30-35 people at the local meetings. Our monthly meetings will be changing in January 2010 to the first Monday of each month and will be held at the River Falls Golf Club house off Hwy 290. See the www.carolinas-pca.com website for details. Check out the Columbia group also.

There is a blue 85-86 that I saw parked at the Whole foods in Mt. P. Also saw a grey 87 or 88 parked outside of whole foods. Mine is the silver and black OB with roof antenna, rear wiper delete, H5 headlights and Cup 2's. Don't be afraid to say hello or honk...

I'm refreshing a 84 Euro S to ship to my daughter in Sumter - so there will be another there shortly - well around May :-)
