New Products - Hatch Receiver Liner and Caliper Lettering Stencils
Today I added two new products to my store:
1. Hatch Receiver Liners - these replace worn or broken hatch receiver liners. They are made from a rigid, but still somewhat flexible plastic resin (polyurea), in the same color as the originals:

2. Brake Caliper Lettering Stencils - after I refinished my calipers, I wanted to restore the lettering and ordered some stencils online. However, they were much too large for the rear brakes. You can now get a set of the proper sizes for the 1990 and later models:

Wait a minute - isn't that a copy of Roger's hatch receiver insert?
Kidding - in case you didn't see Brent's thread...
Seriously - that white plastic looks like it may be more robust than the clear plastic resin ones.
Are yours made of extruded PVC?

Ours are also made from a somewhat elastic polyurea type of resin. We made a great effort to make them comparable in flexibility, color and shape to the original piece.
No matter which of the available replacements you chose, you should make sure your hatch lock and receiver are aligned properly. Otherwise you'll put a lot of stress on the new part and the hatch lock.
It is always a good idea not to slam the hatch shut - particularly on the cars with alarm system - to avoid the common stress cracking in the aluminum housing of the hatch lock.

Hi Nicole!
I thought I might call you about this but then I thought the board might benefit from this question:
1) Is it possible to get your door handle package in black, as opposed to brushed aluminum?
2) If not, would I be able to paint them to look black? What would you recommend?

Hello Nicole,
I've just ordered one of your Hatch Receiver Liners. How do I go about replacing an old one in my car? Do I just pull the old liner out of receiver and then slam new one in its place or do I need to dissasmble the receiver? Tried looking it up in WSM, but there is only one page and it basically talks about removing and adjusting the whole receiver; not even a word about the liner...
Thank You!
