Thanks Hilton,
I ordered one of these anchor kits. The bracket looks tough and appears to have the right strength design elements, but I'm not sure if it's the right type for right behind the rear seat with the tether at close to 90 degrees.
Once I've received it I will physical evaluation it and let you all know.

As far as fitment location goes, this page is about anchor bolt position, from one of the Safe-n-Sound car seat installation guides on Britax's site. It also mentions bolt torque and the grade required.
I've got it in the Vehicle Floor position - I posted pics on another thread somewhere here on Rennlist a while ago.

Checked out the Canadian souce tether anchor. It's made by Safety1st (Dorel).
Checked out the pics of the bracket... definitely not as stout as the Aussie Safe-n-Sound.
Available at ToysrUs CA, but does not ship to USA.
Hilton,
I'd review the Britax installation prior to commiting to you. Thanks for posting that here. Goes to show Britax is okay with using that anchor with a vertical tether.
Did you reverse the anchor like it shows?

I stopped by the local Canadian tire and picked up the Safety first Tether Anchor assembly for 7.99 CDN. My store had about 20 of them on the shelf so if you are interested supply is not an issue.

FYI, the 928 guys must be ordering the hell out of these seats. Got an email that they are now on backorder 2-3 weeks. If you want one, place an order to get in line now.

The Radian65 isn't legal to use herein Australia as it hasn't been through the government approval process to say it meets Aussie design standards, so after thinking for half a second what that would do in the event of an insurance claim, I decided not to buy one from New Zealand.
For the Aussies on Rennlist, here's the seat I bought last weekend.. the base is 32cm wide and fits very nicely in the 34cm gap in the rear seats.

So my 3-year old is no longer the one who never gets to ride in daddy's porshuh (she grew out of the infant seat that we have which fits.. so her little sister has been my only kiddie passenger for a while).
edit: And lastly, for those searching rennlist for infant seats that fit in the back of a 928, who find this thread, we've been using this Britax baby seat for a few years (requires a tether anchor point as discussed earlier in this thread).

Radian finally arrived today. Looking at mounting options through this thread. It seems that the best tether bracket location is right behind the rear seats.
Looking at the Schroth info, it seems like B23C is the way to go since this bracket can be bent 90 degrees and still retain its strength. I presume that this means you can bolt it flat and bend the bracket vertically for the tether to attach to.

Thoughts? Anyhone find a better anchor in the US? I've inferred from the earlier posts that the anchors sold in Canada do not seem to be available in the US.

Remember that bracket you referenced above is designed for a belt distributing force across the whole bracket-and it is part of five separate points. The tether for the car seat is a single point and if ever used, G-d forbid, will be putting huge force onto a single point of 3 total points. Plus it will be pulling up, not outwardly. I'm not an engineer but just my 2 cents.

Have one of our Canadian Rennlisters send you the anchor from Canada. Even if there is duty it won't cost all that much and it's the right tool for the job. You also may want to check GM, Ford & Chrysler for a similar part as they all offer a no-charge anchor retrofit service for cars going back to 1993. Apparently many car manufacturers put in the anchor hole as far back as 1989.

Bending an anchor point to fit is NOT an option. This is potentially the life of your child you are discussing. If you were fitting a 5 point harness for you to go racing the approving body wouldn't sanction a bent anchor or bracket. The correct parts are available. If they are only available in Canada or Australia buy them from there - plenty of Rlisters to help out. And on the way you can kick up a big fuss with your future candidates in the next presidential election about how backwards the US appears to be in protecting it's children. Jump on this the right way (appeal to the mums) and you could influence the next election.
Ooops I think my post just wnet over the boundaries into the Politics forum.

I put a Cosco Serena in the back of my 928 for my 2 year old. I bought 3 of the anchor kits from Canadian Tire. I fastened one to factory hole and the other two to the shock bolts. I then used the LATCH system and the top tether to secure the seat to the 3 installed anchors. It is in there really solid and I am sure it won't pull the shock through the body in an accident.
