Question What and where to is this wire plug under pod go?

Please see attached photos. Took out shelf to get car ready for track day at Willow Springs next Wednesday. Found this 2 wire connector hanging. Can find no apparent female connector this goes to. Car is 86 early, US.

Probably the connector for the KD switch which you don't have in a manual car... harnesses are the same for both.

Yes I apologize. I was doing research because while I was on vacation a rodent chewed into one of my 0S wires. I was using one page for research and another for the thread I wanted to start in the 996 forum. So it was my blunder when I thought I was starting a page and found I actually responded to this thread. Again I’m sorry.
BTW I am looking for a 928 myself they are my 2nd favorite submarine. People in my age group (53) will understand the tongue in cheek.
These are the nice cars. Another Porsche gem. I’m hoping someday to find one with lower miles at a good price to buy. 911’s my must have car and the. 928 is the car I really want. You guys that own them are very fortunate.
So to wrap this up I was or am attempting repair the chewed up wires. After looking at the monster I have created I am seriously considering sourcing the cables and connection doohickey from a salvage yard or new depending on cost. I like to work on my own cars but sometimes it just doesn’t pan out.
