No doubt, Dan. Pretty easy to improve it. It was miserably dirty when I got it.
All four wheel wells are clean, interior clean, top of motor clean. Still a ways to go, but we'll get there.
Btw, she runs much better than the time you rode in it!

xylene is the main ingredient in the paint and goo removers and very handy to have in the garage. it's not dangerous to use on cured paints like laquer thinner can or could be. But please test first.
When you get #6 back home to Va, i'd like to visit you and see the car.

Good stuff, thanks Matt!
I'll look you up when #6 is in VA. Hopefully next year. It will have been 5 years at the farm. I'm looking foward to working on it in my own shop. It's hard to transport tools and parts... always forget something.

^^^ thanks Igor. Love what you are doing with your 928!

Haven't seen any '76 date stamps on a 928 before...

September.

I think my tail light lenses have 1976 stamped on them. Not 100% sure though

So, Jim, where are you at with your preservation of this car and is it still in MI...and if it is...can I see it...in person...pretty please.

Especially, since I'd like to do a similar project with my girl #0225.

I also have #0613 (below)...but it is coming apart slowly. If there is any little do-dad your looking for...let me know. Not a whole lot of quality stuff on this one...but she has a few goodies.

Or if you need a setter...I can hook you up...lol.

Would love to hear more about number 6's story...or at least where you are with her.

Brian.

Hi Brian, nice early 928 you have there!

Sure, you could run on up when I'm back in Michigan (live and work in Richmond VA).
I try to post it on this thread when I'm working on #6, but it's been over a year on this last stretch.
Good news is she should be heading down to my shop, next spring (or sooner). I'm looking forward to putting some real time into her (without the traveling tool shop, heh)!

Keep on trucking with your early 928 and thanks for the parts offer. Just a phone call away.

Thanks Ted! This is my fav pic from last summer. First time I got to really drive it, where it really felt good.
I made my daughter wear a helmet.

Thank you, Jim.

Sure would be nice to get a look at it before you take her home. I'm only a hop, skip and a jump from Saginaw....hour and a half southeast at the most. Just give me a heads up, next trip, and I'll drive up.

It's nice to have #6 928 back in the shop for work in preparation for the Pittsburgh in July (PVGP, arpca.org)

That's interesting, bolted down hood latch. I'll have to check to see if #225's metal plate is on upside down, too.

Removed paint from rear 'Porsche'. Took some time but worth it.
