Hans, a guy can wish can't he I can live without the air pump (can-of-air), but the spare tire and tools are a must have. This is not a must have item at this time, I just thought I would through the idea out there for future models. Keep up the great work!

For anyone interested, I have a new, unused Stereo Integrity BM MK III 12" driver along with a new cabinet drilled for the 12" driver here in SoCal. This combo was going to go into Dan H's Turquoise car but Dan has opted for a smaller driver setup, so here's a chance to get one of the mac-daddy 12" driver setups.

I ran this all by Hans and Dan, and if you're interested, Dan will sell the SW cabinet drilled for the 12" and the 12" driver, for Hans' current 'intro' price of $350 for the cabinet and the original price of $249 for the BM MK III driver. If anyone's interested I can deliver in the L.A. basin or of course it can be shipped anywhere, in Hans' excellent packaging.

Hi Gary-

The SW cabinet is pre-cut to fit the 12" driver, so I would prefer to keep the driver and cabinet for sale as a matched set . But if there's no interest in the setup I'll consider it.

Yup, that makes sense.

Installed a Kenwood head unit today. Bluetooth, iPod, HD radio, etc. really like it. I'm partial to Alpine but this Kenwood is excellent.

I have, however, an incredibly annoying alternator whine that seems to be intermittent. Another intermittent whine appears when the twinscrew fan kicks on. Can't hear either one when music is on, but you hear it between tracks. I rerouted the RCAs under the passenger seat, and that seemed to help. They were running under the old amp cover. The noises were gone... Until I got everything all bundled up. Ugh.

Finally hooked up the built in fan, btw. Used the remote lead for the switched power. No noise from that as far as I can tell.

Ground loops.

Run everything to -1- ground somewhere, will eliminate that.

In my car stereo installation experience, I've always been told that the shorter the ground wire, the better. What you suggest would lead to some really long ground wires.

I think it's more a function of how tight everything is around the unit given that the amp is in a very confined space (which makes it all the more sleek and amazing). I probably just need to move the RCAs an inch away from the 12V power or ground wire, or both wires; that's typically fixed this for me in the past. I had done that at some point in the install, but then had to remove the unit again to switch the RCAs (had the sub channel wires on the B channel instead of the sub input), and that probably moved a wire out of position; I wasn't as careful putting it back in place the second time. In this case, the space is so tight that it's easier said than done to get everything just right. Ran out of time yesterday (Mother's Day; was lucky to even lay a hand on the car) but I should have more time tomorrow; I'll report back. Curious whether anyone else with the Sharkwoofer has experienced this, though. I'm using a Kicker wireset with 8 gauge ground and 8 gauge power wires; Phoenix Gold RCAs that are supposedly shielded.

Someone put a couple of 6 in. subs where the toolkit is. I have looked through hundreds of threads trying to find it again. Anyone know the thread, or designer?
Thanks in advance!

I just ordered the Kenwood Excelon XR-5S 620 watt amplifier and Han's Sharkwoofer w/ 10" sub. To be installed by Sean soon.

Update: Its in and sounds awesome. The amp even made the door and B pillar speakers sound good too.

I have parts in-stock are ready to build 10" sharkwoofers if anyone is interested.

I also have a couple of the mounting plates that have some scratches in the plastic, which I will discount. Its installed under the carpet, so probably wont be seen, and they are just light surface scratches and scuffs from storage/handling of the raw material, but I cant sell them at full price. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

Thanks
Hans

You might not be covering much ground with that dance, but the tunes sure are. Just installed it in Andy's car and it is fantastic. For some reason I keep making them sound better and better and my car sits with the basics.

Default Sharkwoofer

Santa was good to me this year and have just completed the install. The new system includes the Sharkwoofer with 10" Dayton driver, Blaupunkt Toronto 420 BT head unit, and Kenwood XR-5S amp. What a dramatic upgrade. Previously I was using the stock system with Hans' new door speakers. Those front speakers are very good when used with the stock amp, etc. but if you want to see what they are really capable of try a new amp.

So now I am using only the door speakers with the sub and the sound is excellent. Good sound stage with tight quick base. Hans' product is great and he is always willing to guide the uneducated through any snags during the installation.

Highly recommended.

Dave isn't that just the BOMB! I think that is one excellent combination for a GTS! Up to date sound for a car that is STILL ahead of its time! I was enjoying mine today and realizing just how nice it sounds and how cool the BT streaming is!!! Then I got in my '94 with custom MB Quarts from back in the day as a toob style SUB with an aftermarket amp (all the stuff save the toob were done back when the car was new) and while that sounded quite good as well it was not nearly as seamless as the set up in my '95!
