If you only want to spend $12k, then you won't be getting a GTS worth having or a GT that is very nice either... You might get lucky, but it is unlikely.
If you want NICE (beyond DD status, say maybe with some elbow grease and a few repairs a local concours type car) you are going to be looking at $16k on a GT and $30k on a GTS...
