Best bet when you do it is just tell Rog to send you the list, you look at it and say "yea, I need that" and then get the box in the post.

Notes from the Cam Cover / Intake Refresh at 126,235 miles. The key was the prep work:
By working with Ben & Sean, they powder coated the spare S4 cam covers, water bridge and Intake. Also allowed Sean to rebuild the Intake without having access to my car. Roger had all the parts at Sean's ahead of time. At my request, he made an extra trip for the radiator res. bottle but that was purely cosmetic. We will replace the windshield washer filler neck too - again, cosmetic.
Other than a busted bolt during removal, the job was pretty straight forward. Nothing appeared to be broken. Rotors were said to be "rough". Removed a lot of grimy sand/oil mixture just in front of the valley area from this California car. It was obvious the motor had not been serviced as the fuel rail insulation was original yet decaying.
Car started on the first attempt. Thermostat opened at 180. No issues/No surprises. Drove home at a gentle pace since it was late and Easter weekend. Next morning the garage floor was dry. Engine bay looks great.
Many thanks to Sean, Roger and Martin for their time and effort during the rebuild. As well as the Ratts family for allowing Sean to give up much of his weekend to service my Daily Driver.

Back to Sean's today. When the water bridge was powder coated, we didn't get a good ground so the car ran rich and sometimes hard to start, Today we replaced the Temp 2 sensor and cleaned an area for a good ground - car runs fine!
Added 1/2 lbs. of freon.
Hatch Release and Control Temp actuators need to be replaced.
Swapped out the Jerry Feather plastic windshield strips for Roger's new rubber windshield strips. Ride home at highway speed was pretty quiet!

Drove over to Ft Worth early morning monday before last with a friend.
Picked up a gorgeous 89' S4 mit der GT cams from Kendall Karrs garage.
Let my friend drive from west of Abilene to Midland.
When we arrived I had to take care of some business and told my friend to take his wife out on a dinner date and show Midland my beautiful 89' , he agreed real fast!
About ten minutes later he called me after breaking the inside door handle off for some reason he couldn't get the door open ...
was a pleasant ride all things considered hope you have a nice trip, too. Will be convoying three vehicles including the 89' up to Oil City, PA within the next 10 days. I can only pray that TX, AK, TN, KY, OH have finished working on the Interstate. Road crews turned the interstates' in all those states into parking lots -about an hour per state at a total standstill.

Andy,
Call Mike. He might swap out your new ones just to have access to your used ones. I don't want to speak for him, but I sure as heck would if it was up to me and I needed lights.

Next weekend is the 14th annual "3rd Coast" in the Texas Hill country. Over 100 people have registered from all across the country and Canada. The 928 has had a through detail and now it's time for something new.
It's time to refinish the rotor hats and brake calipers. I purchased Rust-Oleum Hammered Silver for the hats and VHT Red Caliper Paint.
I'll start tomorrow morning.

Andy has been calling and trying to get me to do some work for a couple of months and I've been unable to do any work for a bit, but when he called the other day to see if I could do a DE inspection for him, I said sure, bring it in Thursday. So he stopped in expecting to spend 10 to 30 minutes hanging out but I had other plans.
He had a good sized laundry list of things he wanted to get done by June as his wife was taking the car on a couple thousand mile trip so here is what we got done today.
New (used....Sterlings old ones) transmission mounts. Original ones were sorta flat.
Did his power steering res and hoses for that and it was a mess.
Changed out the bowden cable o-ring on the transmission (leaking)
Installed his EIS that he bought from MJ. Like he said, his car now has *****. Had to use one of Rogers Y pieces as MJ's was built for a car with collapsed motor mounts.
New seat switch on the passenger side seat.
New cruise control brain from Roger.
New drivers splash shield also from Roger.
What made the day more fun and easy for Andy was a customer brought over his slightly modified ZO6 for a detail so that got done in the drive as I worked.
Wish Andy had been able to take a ride in this beast, 550hp and over 600tq.
Thanks again Andy for letting me work on the car. It was a fun day.

Yup, the money went from one hand to another and everybody's happy!
Took the 928 to the PCA DE at MSR and had no issues what so ever. Being the only 928 there and in the Green Run Group, you can imagine the 928 got lots of attention! By the last session, I was calling out "Turn In, Apex and Track Out" on each turn with very little hand movement. On a separate note, I learned how to recover from a spin and kept in on the track. I was Off line and On the gas when I should have been On line and gently breaking.
So who needs a Detail as I really want to return next month!
