$10,800 and reserve not met.
What do you think?

That car has some very desirable features. If it's mechanically sound I would think it would be worth that price or more. Change those wheels out and you would have an all around stunning 928 with what everybody wants. Double black, beautiful sport seats, lots of leather options in good condition,5 spd,low miles, maybe LSD. Love it. Gunar

Same high bidder, all "reserve not met" all the same seller.

I do see a lot of indicators in the bid information consistent with that. For example, the lead bidder (o**0) has only bid with this seller and has done it 4 times in the last 30 days. Nasty. The most active bidder (v**s) has placed over 600 bids on over 100 items in the last 30 days but has zero feedback. Hmm...
bronto's info is even more telling.
Still, I do like the sport seats.

Good catch, fellas!
Yea, nice car.... IF it checks out. But the ad does nothing for that car. With some due dilligence maybe worth more, but based on what I can tell from the auction, I say $5K.
Thanks for your responses.

Yes, you have to be careful at brick and mortar car lots and online. I've bought and sold hundreds of items on eBay, including my 928, other cars and motorcyles, and have managed to avoid the bad guys. The signs are there, like in this case.

Strategic and deliberate use of white background, raw light, and low resolution photos to obscure and enhance. Faded wheels and carpet pieces clue there is more to discover.
But the objective is to fish for the big marlin.
Reminds me of watching "American Sportsman" back in the 60's.

Less than trustworthy seller, no service history (read TB/WP, Shocks, Clutch = $5K), poorly prepared for sale (carpets in the back, black paint hazy), etc...
You do your homework and find a true lower mile car (actual miles), with recent service performed, and the price goes up.
