Thanks Danny. I am preparing to put 18" wheel's on my car and was looking at 245/40 and 265/35's.

I think you're right... Rears need to be slightly lower profile.

All you need is a track day or two to get you ready for your next set... :-)

LOL... good suggestion, but these are winter tires and I dont think I will track the 928... for that, I blessed to have my track toy in the garage Regardless its too damn cold right now up here to do much of anything besides freezing!

I would suggest going 235/40 in the front as it will be a dead even match with the 265 in the rear. The 245 would be a tad taller than the rear.

Of course you are right. I was working from my faulty memory... I had 235/40's in my notes for next spring! Thanks for correcting that.

I never met Steve but my mom passed from AML early last yr, so I can imagine the pain and torture Steve endured during his illness. Condolences to his family and friends.

Based on the outpouring from people who knew him, it brings to mind the Porsche saying "It's not the cars, it's the people".

Super cool car! One of the legendary Japanese 928 S4 - XX8 = wide body (there were 50 of them) XX8 is the Widebody option was the most expensive option in Porsches 1991 entire lineup of cars.

Not surprising that Steve Hoyt mysteriously appeared in this thread as he owned the only US XX8 GT for many years and he passed recently.

Beautiful Amethyst XX8 and thanks for sharing your road trip...

P.S. The Japanese XX8's are known for having exceptionally gorgeous interiors featuring tons of leather. How was yours optioned?

I believe I now have that car. It's has gray leather interior and most interior pieces are leather. I am traveling thru next week but will post some pictures when I get back home. It also has rootwood shifter, shifter surround, door panel cards etc.
