Default WTB: 86.5-87 928

I am specifically looking at those 2 model years at the moment. The 1991 fell through and the 87 in Atlanta has sport seats-which is about the only thing my wife said no to...

No salvage title; has to be clean.

With an 86.5-87 I don't have to deal with NY State smog so inspection is simple and I can get some breaks on insurance.

Looking to spend around $8-12K for something nearly sorted and yes I am thinking about Linderpat's 86.5...really want A/C working...

Contact me PM, E-mail, etc.

Thanks!

Michael

I know for fact that John D would swap his stock S4 seats (I think they are 8way) for those sport seats... (his interior is the same color).... might be worth pursuing if that S4 checks out for you..

Is he in Pac NW?

Be an interesting swap!

How difficult is it to retrofit power 8 ways for sport 4 ways?

Yep..he's here in the PacNW.... Not sure on the power swap..but the sport seats do have power (up/down front and back)...just the slider/recline is manual... I would guess it should just plug straight in?

I'll keep my eyes open for ya, Mickster. I'm curious to see what turns up here after this thread has "stewed" for a few days.

She mainly desires to be a passenger. And I have the blessing to buy a 5-speed.

Probably not completely sorted and high miles, but perhaps for $7500 plus 4-5K in reconditioning it could be really nice. Cosmetics look good! Within driving range for a PPI with Greg Brown if you're so inclined.

This one has been for sale for a while and looks nice, may be an 86.0 though.

86.5 needs the bumper repainted and a A/C compressor buts seems to be mechanically sorted and it's a rare car being a 86.5 Euro with the 32v motor and a 5spd. http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...20389672&Log=0

alway up to 95 there is no smog ny state test only a visial inspection of componets (smog pump if equipt, cat )
87 and older only a safety inspection, no cats no problem.
i would know a state trooper accualy look under mine with a mirrow and i had to remind him ,that the car is exemt from emission regulations.
