AC too cold
Seriously, now that I have done a full R-134 conversion the right way with a Griffith kit and have my charge just right it is ice cold. Did it the right way, I mean everything was cleaned, every O-ring replaced, new expansion valves and evaporator cleaned, new compressor, new barrier hose, this thing is freaking cold!
It was 93 and 95% humidity here yesterday. I had to turn off the rear air it was getting too cold in the car. Gonna be over 100 with 95+% humidity today. My garden is growing crazy fast.
Figured the forum could use some good news and not a complaint.

Good for you. My car has a temperature setting. I set it so it won't freeze me out.
Who supplies the two rear a/c barrier hoses? Does Griffith now supply them?

How cold is it with 134A
I get 2-4C at the evaporator and 11-14C measured at the outlet in the door - ambient is 96-104 F this week IN Dallas
My 94 came standard from the factory with 134a

Guess the 134a is good enough if you add the barrier hose ;-)
Seriously, though, 134a worked quite well in my previous GTS in Florida (still a conversion, as it was an early 93). I have heard that R12 works much better then 134a in dry climates and at higher elevations, like Colorado. Also, the previous GTS was blue with a grey interior instead of black on black. I'm beginning to feel that manufacturers should be required to include an improved A/C system with black/black cars.

Local shop made the rear hoses for me. Very funny about the temp setting. I was just used to having it on full cold all the time because before the full change over it just wasn't like 1973 Caprice Classic cold. You know, like snowing inside cold.

Sure hope I can get my system running this well once the rest of my parts show up.
New front condensor
All new o-rings
pulled hvac box
clean clean clean everything
no vacuum leaks
replacement rear AC unit - the old one makes a better sieve.

I have to say I am very happy with my Griffith unit. I am not happy that Porsche makes it such a pain to change the AC Belt.

If you're a/c is too cold, you need to move to Texas 
. R134 is a pretty good refrigerant and if your condenser and evaporator are working well, it will cool the car well. The barrier hoses help keep the system from leaking.
I've had a couple of cars that were converted (same model, different cars). Some worked really well , while others, not so much.
What's consistent about them is that whenever I converted them back to R12, they all worked well.

My PO had Porsche convert to a 134 system (even sticker on inner hood to give warning)
Mine too is ice cold - have to turn up the temp slider sometimes.
