I took over an hour trying to diagnose a power lose to my fuel pump,

I realized that the recently updated wiring diagrams i downloaded
provided by Alan has fuse function # 13 and # 22 switched. Has this been corrected Alan?

For MY '83, fuse number 13 is 'not connected', fuse # 22 is the fuel pump fuse.
took off the CE panel to figure this out. These are reversed on the diagram i downloaded.

Once i realized this in 2 minutes, running great again.
Need to get this corrected.

928 International has it correct:

This is documented in the running list of pending changes in post #94, also in several other of the feedback posts from the '83 reviewers.

The diagrams are PRELIMINARY I hope this was clear - and I have cautioned against printing/storing/using them yet.

They were published here only so they can be checked for correctness. It is time to still be flagging new issues - you shouldn't expect 100% accuracy at this point, we just aren't there yet. https://rennlist.com/forums/11132727-post31.html

As was stated initially I will publish these as final here and elsewhere when they are updated/corrected/improved sufficiently.

Unfortunately this is a huge effort and takes time - I find I have had very little time available over the last month.

This one issue on 1983 cars is I believe the biggest anomaly found to date. Its an anomaly Porsche created since their own documentation on 1983 models is quite confused: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...eferrerid=6055

Still unravelling the details here... there appear to be 2 configurations for 1983 that depend on more than just USA/ROW...

Please provide me with one bit of data - what is the number on your CE panel? 928.610.105.06?

Alan

Is that a big wrinkle in the dash covering?

Shawn that's the steel stamping. Dash leather has held up very nice through the cold and heat.

Finally have some time to get started up again and work on it.

Building a proper paint shop right now though first, as i have some detail painting to do. May paint the wheels gulf orange too

I bought 6 yards the Porsche Slivernit carpet and more of the same thin navy leather to finish the interior

Drove the car to my Son's baseball game yesterday, so many kids with mouths open.

What a nice car!!!!
I just happen to have a late 1986 Euro 928s 5-speed, no sunroof- and it pretty much looks a lot like your! Am about to remove the PS, and the AC is already out. The long gone interior was already damaged by water... Please continue your posts as it gives a lot of us courage to continue our builds.
Porsche 928 RS must be the best Porsche never officially built!

Yeah, driving around with no console, carpet, or passenger seat for the moment brings a whole new meaning to rally sport. Kinda like the look too. I'm at the point where it either needs a new carpet or a roll-cage. Keep the mods coming, love the build.

Look a few pages back when i did the PS delete, once most of the fluid is out of the rack, effort is minimal. You need to drive it a while while allowing fluid to escape the rack. I run about 33 lbs up front for street use. Good luck Avve!

I like it too, i wish i painted the interior of the doors, i may have simply glued perlon carpet instead of making cards..

This is a nice surprise and uplifting to finish the interior. It will be finished and i've figured out the RS door cards. will have pics soon.

Update:

I'm getting ready to take the front of the heater box off to extract the condensing coil. that last bit of air weight has been bugging me.

I bought the Perlon carpet and wanted to start but had to repair my hood over Easter weekend as a big tree branch fell on it. (couldn't believe it) I was planning on Hershey.. I almost decided to install the rear quarter trim panels until i weighed them (17 lbs together) The armrest/storage is also very heavy (4.5 lbs each) but the cards themselves are pretty light and will be modified for use.

pic is perlon carpet and repainted hood. what a pita.

Default remove evaporator

That 7 lbs loss took some time but it's out of there and i'm glad i did it.

Tomorrow night i'll clean everything and start putting it all back together.

Then it's interior, suspension and exhaust work.

My Wife seems 'on board' for the purchase of 14 lb GT3 seats

Are you going to corner balance the car once you have everything stripped and finalized?
