What does a person have to do to win worst of show, aka "crusty rusty"?
I smell a fix!
I have diligently ignored the exterior cosmetics of my car for over three years. I unashamedly drive her to events with the same rust she has had since the day I bought her. My dash is so bad that not even a dash carpet can hide the horror that lies beneath.
My son and I high five at every start. I plan trips to avoid stop signs and begin to hyper ventilate at stop lights lasting longer than a minute. Tow trucks make u-turns to follow me and a guy at a funeral home flashed a "see you soon" sign when I drove by Friday on the trip up.
I suppose I will keep trying despite the fact that I emasculate myself a bit more at each event. See you all next year

I have really enjoyed this weekend. I hate to see what we missed on Sunday, but we had to drive back to Houston to fly back to Charleston on Sunday afternoon.
After an absence of 4 years from 3-rd Coast and with memories of events with about 12 to 16 cars, it was an awesome experience to be back with a group of some 50 928's. including 7 from Houston. It was great driving up from Houston with 5 guards red 928's and 2 others- what colors where they? I don't remember.
This is really is the greatest 928 group in the country.
I like to thank Roger and his group for putting on this weekend.
The GT stays in Houston for a while. I hope to make it to the Spring Fling with it, before it goes back to the East Coast..

That WAS pure poetry.
Your car actually came in a VERY close 2nd, i think the DFW crew was able to convert a couple of people over to the dark side.

It was good to see you again and have you drive up with us. You did a good job of keeping up. Of course you know that it's not good for the twin turbo to sit in Houston while you are SC, so just let me know and I'll be happy to blow the carbon out once in a while!

This was our first time at 3rd Coast, and we had a blast. Thanks to Roger and crew, Chuck, and the 928 Owners Club for putting it together. Also thanks to Don for organizing the caravan from Houston. We met a bunch of great people and are looking forward to next year.

but how the heck did he win the Crusty-Rusty Award which intuitively belongs to a POS?
"That seems rude to tell someone their car is not good. That shouldn't be an award, maybe dirtiest or something would be better".
Maybe others were too nice as well?

As to the post asserting that the award belongs to a "POS" I should have won on that qualifier alone!
The day I pushed it off the trailer into my driveway over three years ago my wife exclaimed, screamed really but that's another thread, "what a POS" and has called it so too many times for me to count!
I wear it as a badge of honor

There were two rigged voting efforts that I gladly participated with... One to give Tony the "Best non-928" (his Chevy powered car) and the other to give Jarrod the "Rusty Crusty" award. I thought both were good jokes, and the look on Roger's face when he saw the winners while announcing them was priceless! I won't name any names as to who came up with the ideas, but I think one of them likes to make very loud noises late at night in the parking lot.
