I just used a guy up in Rancho Cordova, right outside of Sacramento. I got the injectors back yesterday - quick turnaround, full paperwork. I haven't installed them but based on what I've seen from other places it looks like he did a good job. http://www.doctorinjector.net/
Kinda close to Bay Area... but there's gotta be someone there.

Thanks
Every time I run injector cleaner through the system it works but then it clogs again.
Now I am going to operate rather than medicate
Need to replace vacuum lines, plugs and clean anyway since I failed smog
I have till the 26th to get it done

Speaking of injectors.. how long do the later year injectors tend to last? 87 car and newer? I have 148K on mine now and never ran cleaner. Never had any problems, but I do put good fuel in.

I don't think its about miles, could be heat cycles.
Reminds me of the first time I was told I needed to have my injectors cleaned. It was the shop half of a Mobil station where I bought all my gas from pumps with pictures showing Mobil gas "cleaning" my injectors. I fully expressed my dissatisfaction. Real problem was a bad cat.
I would find out what the place does, what they replace, and ideally find a place that does enough of our type of injectors to put together a flow matched set.

Since I have owned the car from 84k till now 112k I have always used Chevron gas unless I was someplace that this was not an option. The Magnaflow cat is about 15k old so I doubt if this is the issue. I found a place in the Bay Area called Ole's that cleans injectors. At least I can cross this off my list if I still get a misfire from time time.

Have you considered sending them off to WitchHunter, www.witchhunter.com . They seem to have a great reputation from reviews I've read and have a quick turn around and are located in Washington state.

I'd be more concerned as to why they're ok after you run cleaner through them and then they clog up again.
Having them professional cleaned won't solve anything if you have a contaminated fuel system.
Do you possibly have a bad fuel filter that's breaking down. Or worse yet, 33 year old rubber fuel lines that are disintegrating internally?

George has a good point, however ALL the fuel lines are new including the one from the tank to the engine, fuel pump and the filter in the tank is new. The only fuel lines I had not replaced were the ones connected to the injectors.

I drove the car for years being careful to use only good brands of fuel. Over time, the injectors slowly clogged to the ppoint where the NOx readings were marginal. I used Techron injector cleaner regularly during longer trips, and it seemed to help performance for a while.
Ultimately, new injectors solved the problem. Part of the pour-in injector cleaner challenge is that there are things that you don't want to use in the car because of the rest of the fuel system. So the Techron additive (or whatever you choose) may not be the best at actually cleaning the injectors. Cleaning while driving offers a fraction of the flow required to really flush the deposits and varnish from the injectors. So "good enough" flow during normal driving isn't really good enough for all driving, and there aren't enough road-going opportunities to keep the flow high. All of this points to off-the-car cleaning or replacement as the practical options for our injectors.
Just my opinion and experience, of course...

Exactly
I can drive to LA from my house in Oakland, about 375miles and it will run wonderfully
for about a week after. City driving... then it starts to stumble. "Medicate rather than operate" is not in my opinion the best answer.
I'm sending them off tomorrow for cleaning.
