Just got back from the powder coater.
Gunmetal with a clearcoat. Top notch job at a very reasonable price.
These wheels are going to look great, and having the right offsets with some sticky track tires will be a huge improvement over the less-than optimal tire/wheel setup that I'm currently running.

J.P. Wow! What a difference the powder coating made. The gunmetal really subdues the spokes and makes the look much more aggressive.

The only modification I had to make using 18" Panamera wheels was a few light taps on the grease caps up front so the center caps would fit. I didn't need to roll fenders or use spacers. I don't see why these wheels would raise the car. The appropriate tire selection will keep the overall diameter close to stock. I have Hankook 235/40 on the front, 265/35 rear.

Default A definite improvement..

Although I haven't gotten the tires mounted and the wheels installed, it was killing me to envision what these wheels will look like on the '88. I couldn't wait, so I fired up Photoshop...

Before, with Mille Miglia 18" Cup Replicas:

After, with the Gunmetal powdercoated Pana 10 spokes:

Yet another 928 with Panamera 5-spokes, just got them mounted last week. The rears fit perfectly with the factory spacers, there's about a finger worth of space between the fender and tire.

Kumho Ecsta 4X II, 235-40/18 front, 255-35-18 rear, They ride slighlty firmer than 16's, but feel great with the Bilsteins.

Put a set of 10 spokes on the GTS right before SITM. 235/40-18 fronts and 275/35-18 rears with stock rear spacers. I think they give the car a more modern look.

Hi hb,
I love your wheels. Maybe it's an optical ilusion, but do you have some negative camber on your fronts?

Thanks! Likewise :-)

Not intentionally. I checked this afternoon with a carpenter's level, and it definitely has some negative camber. Unfortunately, more on the right side than the left. Odd because it was aligned back in September. I'll have to get it aligned soon - I don't want to ruin a brand new set of tires.

Hugo.

After the Proxes R888 came in and got mounted, the Pana wheels went on the track car. Then into the shop for a street/track alignment..
