American Banks are useless - totally useless. They did not know that more than one country (in this case Germany) used the Euro as their currency. Did not know that all you need is an IBAN number. IBAN includes all the account and bank info.
Took three attempts at the transfer before they got it right. In every case they used a fax to send the information to the wire transfer department. Nearly a week to transfer my payment - so much for fast wire transfer.
When I transfer money from my UK bank account on line it takes me about 30 seconds to log on and make the transaction - it is in my USA account within less than 5 minutes.

Finally..just registered. So....what do you still have to do in order to get to Leipzig on May 9th???
I still need to do..front brakes, install a 33 bar brake bias valve, flush brake fluid. And many many more things which will have to wait until after.
Rog, that stuff you call beer is that the flat drink without any foam??

- Install my WBO2 sensor and TechEdge 2J9 controller, so to have proper data logging for that.
- Install Ed Scherer's AILD-1 module.
- Install two (2) E-clips on the headlight motor arm, thereby replacing the current C-clips which - sooner or later - will fall off and then the arm wrecking havoc with both the expensive a/c condensor + radiator.
- Install Jeff Spahn's a/c condensor shield
- And then for sure still some other "to do" things...

Hi All,
As I am in europe at the moment, I will try to make it as I will not attend "Sharks inthe park in Berkeley, CA" this year.
No 928 here, so the rental/mietwagen BMW or Audi will have to do. I just registered on the site, but need the reg to be validated so I can pay the fees if I will be back in Germany in time. It will be interesting to see some 928's here in EU.
Cheers!

Starting my road trip in a few hours time from now: Finland today followed by Sweden, Denmark and then into Germany towards Stuttgart during tomorrow so to first visit their local Porsche museum on Thursday morning.
Put some wax on the 928 during yesterday evening, so all ready to go now.
Looking forward to see and talk with many of you during the Euro 928 event in Leipzig from Thursday afternoon onward (I'll post pictures whenever I can into this thread)!

Arnoud's Euro 928 pre-road trip, some pics
" It is the car's that bring us here, and the people that make us stay and come back."
Facts: 1794.4 km = 1120+ miles in 18 hours of driving (including 1.5 hours waiting and taking the ferry from Denmark to Germany) + about 3 hours of visiting two Rennlister (as agreed on forehand), 4 fuel up's + 5 strong coffee's + 1 Red Bull and 0.75 liter of 20W50 motor oil later...
German roads are very busy and full of roadworks where you can only do 80 or 60km/h, and full of 1000's of trucks during the evening and night time. Really slows down the average speed (not what it used to be, even only some years ago).
Pictures or it did not happen...
Arriving in Sweden and starting to drive from 06:30 onwards:
Meeting up with Strosek Ultra / Åke, and many thanks to Åke' and his wife for providing the very warm welcome that they did!
This is his 1986 Strosek, he is busy with an engine rebuild (and wow! what a beast of an engine that is going to be once done):
Åke's marine-blue 928 Strosek Version III, and his wife's red 1991 Strosek:
Some other, beautiful, work Ake has been doing: left his modified timeable camshaft versus right standard S4:
Arriving at the Swedish Denmark border, just before taking the two countries toll bridge that connects them:
On the Øresund 8km long bridge:
Followed by being in the Øresund 4km long tunnel:
Meeting up with Mads in Copenhagen, thanks Mads for taking good care of me (and that is Mads himself next to my car)!
Taking the Denmark to German ferry:
Done, 1794.4 km later:
Next stops today Thursday 8th May: Stuttgart Porsche museum and then up to Euro 928 Leipzig

Just got off the phone with Roger, he says there are already 40 cars on the lot and the place is filling up. The quality of cars is just amazing to he and Jim and they are seriously impressed.

Thanks for your encouragements, I'll keep the pics coming then.
Sean: it's true!
Hereby some more pics, first of my Porsche Stuttgart museum visit. If ever you have a change to visit it: do it. It is not a large museum, so 2 or 3 hours will do fine. It has a below service parking garage when you come with a car (does not have to be a Porsche, but there are plenty there parked already ).
Outside view of the building:
928 related contents:
The VIN on this one as displayed in the window is: SS800283. So something middle 1995, definitely not the last one (they have that one too, but hidden in the storage facilities next door):
I went outside for some fresh air, and funnily enough a truck full with new Porsche's passed by:
Lady luck: when I drove away from the museum, this was in front of me directly out of the museum:
And last but not least: Euro 928 evening talks & drink, a well known Mr. Tyson in good form:
More tomorrow...
