Hooray! I have a UPS tracking number. Looks I'll be getting 4 packages, totaling 91 pounds. I have to work late tomorrow, but hope to start unpacking Wednesday. Carl is only about 120 miles from me.

You beat me to it - I was going to tell you that we were shipping today. Glad you got the tracking info email already.

You will be receiving the complete kit sans the intercooler at this time. It arrived damaged in the box - it was a small dent but it was right over the internal cooling core - so I rejected it. I am having another intercooler made for you on rush order and will get it to you before you need it. :-)

Hi guys,
I got my 4 boxes of SC parts today. They were beautifully wrapped, and I am just going through them to inventory what all is there. I have to say that the SC pulley is very impressive. It is big and beautifully machined then hard coated. All the parts look first rate. The instructions look very thorough, but I am sure I'll be scratching my head at some point. Right now my living room is full of parts.

Hi Guys,
I unpacked my parts delivery, and started to sort them out. they are very thoughtfully organized. You may remember that I had just finished replacing the short fuel injector hoses. Anyway I wanted to get my fuel system sealed up so I decided to do the fuel line work first on the SC install.
On my car, I need to reroute some of the front fuel lines to make room for the blower outlet. Also there is a fuel management unit called a BEGI FMU that raises the fuel pressure while the engine is under boost. It works in conjunction with the factory fuel pressure regulator by creating a variable obstruction in the fuel return line. You can see it on the firewall.
Well after it was all installed, I pressurized my fuel system by jumpering my FP relay. I heard fuel dripping and looked at the engine compartment to find a leak at one of my new fuel injector hoses. I installed 8 hoses, 16 hose clamps, but I tightened only 15 hose clamps. It was the last one and very easy to access. I tightened it up and I am now leak free at a pressure of 40 PSI.
BTW while I was attaching an adapter to the fuel cooler, I dropped the item, and I found out Porsche has a convenient opening in the bell housing that catches anything that fall off the back of the engine. I pulled the lower cover and there it was. I did not replace it until all the work in that area was finished.
Here's a picture of my current state:

Hi again,
I got the L-jet adapter attached to the AFM, and the AFM clamped to the throttle body elbow. Carl's clamp is pretty clever, and I installed new O-ring.
I think I said I thought I could do this install in a weekend. Well, that is ridiculous. I keeping spending time on stuck fasteners, FUBARed threads, and various distractions. The kit is very complete, but there are numerous variations that require tweaking to make things fit. The install will take as long as it takes, and it will probably be a couple of weeks to get things buttoned up.
Thanks for watching,
Dave

You've got the right idea, Dave. Take your time, and enjoy the process.
I've been trying to get mine right for almost a year now.

Well done, John. You are right - no matter how complete a kit is, one great variable is the 30 year old car and wrestling with stuck fasteners, old cracked hoses and such as you find them. Take your time, enjoy the process. Don't fight it. You are doing great.

I keep plugging away. I reinstalled the plenum. Hacker, I don't know how you do that 20 minutes. I installed the oil control system with hose and breather/separator mods. Here are some status pics:

I'm not sure that is a good thing, it means I've taken mine off / on so many times I've gotten really good at it.

For starters, new rubber pieces makes it easier to slide them back / forth.

I also use a 1/4" socket on the end of a drill to loosen / tighten the hose clamps. Even the ones going to the throttle body.

Same goes for the clutch, take one out / in 20+ times in one day, you become very efficient......
You also stop dropping the clutch pack on your head after the 3rd or 4th time.

I started mounting air/water intercooler system. It uses the windshield washer reservoir to provide circulating coolant. The pump will be mounted behind the right headlight, the fan-cooler behind the left headlight. You can't see the fan, but it is on the other side of the coil.
Thanks for reading,
Dave

Well, I got most of my intercooler plumbing run today. The actual intercooler was damaged so Carl had a new one made, and it will be here soon. Most of this work was straightforward, just dirty and hard to reach in tight spaces.
Thanks for watching,
Dave

Good work - nice Pics! For those that are interested that is a Dedenbear WP-3 water pump we provide for our intercooler system. You could get by with a lot less - Vortech sells a wimpy little pump for this application - but I found that any kink or too-tight of hose bend will shut flow from the Vortech pump off. This pump has the goods to push through, solid pressure and GPM numbers to make sure the intercooler always gets flow.

Designed for cooling engines - it can push water around all the internal casting restrictions in an engine no problem. And thats why I like it - there are a lot of restrictions in a intercooler system (including the cooling core itself).

I could spend a lot less and go cheap on the water pump, but we don't. Been using this pump in our kits since day 1, and I use it in my race car too. No failures. Its a quality piece.

Hi guys,
Time for an update. I got my SC pulley and head unit installed today. The pulley is indeed a work of art. The SC head unit mounts up to the old viscous fan mount, and is braced off of the front engine lifting point. When it is torqued down, it is very, very solid. I could easily push the car by its supercharger. But I won't The BOV is mounted to the SC outlet piping. Next I will reinstall accessory belts, radiator, fans, etc. Still waiting on the intercooler, so I will work on gauges and other details in meantime.
Thanks for watching,
Dave
