Hi All

Working on cleaning up fuel system on top of the engine.The two lines in the picture are clearly in need of replacement but are now discontinued.It has been suggested that i take the two lines to someplace that makes hydraulic hoses to have the rubber section rebuilt.

Would like a more straightforward solution... if there is one, out here in the sticks it is difficult to find anybody for specialty work.

If it is unclear from the picture..it is the 2 lines that come off of 928 110 369 06 & 928 110 367 07 on the passenger side of the engine.

All suggestions appreciated.

I make replacements for both lines out of Teflon lined hose.

928 International or 928 R Us both have them.

Gregg's lines are pieces of art. They are extremely well made and the price reflects that.

If you are on a budget like I am, the 928 international hoses work very well. I have ran them for 2 years with no issues.

I have no info on Roger's lines and I am sure plenty of others can chime in and give you more info.

If you take them to a hydraulic shop to be rebuilt, be sure to use the correct metric fuel hose as you will not want any leaks.

Also, from the condition of yours replace them ASAP or before you drive it again because those look like they could burst at any point.

Not goin anywhere til they are replaced--just about had a stroke when i saw them as i was putting the car away for the winter :-)

Those are less special than they might seem. A hydraulic hose rebuilder can handle it. I got them done at a Pirtek franchise and they sent me to a Checker auto parts store (ordinary place) for the hose.

Don't screw around with a local shop. There is only one choice. Get Greg's hoses. Period. Done. No other real choice. I have his fuel line hoses. They are the right part for the application.

I can make them from cheaper materials.....I actually have the pieces in stock to make these hoses 2-3 different ways, from cheaper materials.

However, I'm pretty well convinced that fuel hoses are not the best place to be cheap.

Your original lines should be a plastic line with a rubber covering for the feed. The return line should be a rubber line.

The feed hose has barbs on the metal ends, for the plastic hose to seal against. If you put any type of rubber hose over these barbs, you take a chance of the rubber hose being cut by the barbs. This problem goes up exponentially if you have rubber crimped onto these barbs or you use clamps.

The return hose is probably rubber. This hose can be replaced with rubber hose and crimped or clamped.

Note how close the exhaust manifold is to these hoses. I'm actually amazed that the factory hoses lasted as long as they did. Speaks volumes about the quality of the pieces they used.

As long as you don't have kids or you drive them in another car, you are in good shape!

I live in the marine capitol of North America, where you can have anything made of stainless steel or any hose you can draw on a piece of paper. I work right down the street from the Aeroquip dealer. When they told me they could do one fitting of that hose but not the other, my next call was to Greg. If you can't tell that Greg is THE MAN for 928's within 5 mins on the phone with him, then you probably should not own a 928.

^^ go with what Greg said. I've used the Coline and Gates hose for these and never feel comfortable doing so as they are so close to the headers. I try and convince owners to use the GB hoses for it as I know they are the best part for the job.
