http://type911shop.co.uk insulting 928 owners!
This is the extract from the 928 page, the rotten scoundrels.
"Many thought of the 928 as ugly, and really this cant be disagreed with however it more than made up for this with performance. "
How very dare they?!

In my younger (and less discriminating) days I knew a few young ladies like that; especially after a few pints of brewski. Never had to wake up and gnaw my arm off to get away though.

Not everyone thinks our 928s are as beautiful as we think they are. I'm OK with that.

As a former hockey player and a current skier I took some minor chances with my physical well-being. However I have not lived very dangerously with my cars. When I was debating which Porsche to purchase back in 1987, the debate was primarily between the 928 and the 911. I drove both cars and I found the 911 to be too erratic for my tastes. It seemed like the damned thing had a tendency to bring the backside forward under the least amount of provocation. On the other hand, the 928 was steady as she goes. For that reason I purchased the 928 and have ever since thought of 911 owners as being not terribly concerned about their well-being. Pelly Lindberg, goalie for the Flyers, got killed when his car swapped ends into a stone wall.
As for appearance I never thought about buying a 928 until the S4 came on the market. The inclusion of the various redesign elements (rear wing and front spoiler) seemed to me to turn a somewhat dull appearance into a really nice looking car.

If you put an '89 911, an '89 928, and a new 991 sitting all together, I wonder how many non-Porsche people would think that the 991 is an evolution of the 911?
For me, it's tough to see much 911 in the 991, but I can see a whole bunch of 928 there.
And if you consider the 928 to be ugly....that 991 must really turn your stomach.

If nothing else just the sheer size and bulk of the 991 rear end makes it look so none 911.....plus it actually has room inside and is comfortable. Powerful and fast !! Not your Grandfather's 911 which in many ways is a good thing !
I was looking at 1975 911 Carrera (USA) spec on Tuesday as a potential buy....described as one owner 37,000 mile car black with stripe delete.....sadly was originally silver and painted by the dealer !! Just reminded me how small they are

Well said.
I find it strange, but to each his own!

Finally, with the 981 and 911 Porsche has put in an interior that's as good as the 928. The previous generations were a bag of suck.
I guess they had to wait for a good design until they could show that it was copied from the Panamera and not the 928.
BTW, by "interior" I mean the dash and console layout.

I don't blame people for saying it's ugly, the 928's looks are an acquired taste.
Bjbpe; Matter of fact i think Tim Horton died in a Porsche way back when.
