Rear suspension inspection procedure
Over the past week or so I have noticed a slight creaking noise coming from my rear suspension, primarily drivers side. The sound has gotten louder after further use and sounds like a creaking or slight popping coming from one of the shock towers.
I have noticed no street performance problems or any looseness or excess bounce. The sound reminds me of what my old honda sounded like when the sway bar got a little loose. So next step I am thinking of doing is performing a rear suspension check.
I plan on checking the following things with torque measured on a Porsche workshop manual specs:
- rear wheel play for looseness
- torque shock tower bolts
- torque shock base bolt
- torque end links
- check and torque sway bar connections to chassis
Anything else I should look out for for a possible noise source?

Check your springs around where the Ott droplinks are, they can depending on ride height and the natural movement of the rear steering come in contact with the spring.

Another thing to check,
look closely at the eccentrics on the rear cross member these are torqued to 140 ft/lbs and they could be loose.
