I'm helping my dad sell his 928 S4. It's black on burgundy, with 5-speed, LSD (220), sport suspension (474), and 92k miles. It runs well and has no major issues, except for some cosmetic problems. Asking $8200.
Here's the CL ad:

Here's the thread I started 2 months ago asking if I should change the interior to black to help it sell.

We've acquired the black interior, and if the car doesn't sell soon, I'll be inclined to install it. The black interior we got is in excellent condition, with the leather dash. Only thing is, the front seats aren't too good, but that's easy to deal with. So... anyone want it with the burgundy interior?
If you're interested, have any questions, or input, please let me know. Thanks!

I would suggest some patience- but I think the car is aggressively priced for a 5 speed. Nice options, wish it weren't on the left coast! Looks good in pics though finishing the dash repair would remove one distraction. Changing out the interior seems like far to much work for the potential increase in value v. the potential for hassle, mistakes, breakage etc. I had a black/black full leather 85 5 spd, after a few months of ownership I would've gladly swapped the black for burg, or most any other color. So, preferences differ. Folks are bound to ask- hhistory on t-belt/water pump and intake/fuel hoses & lines?

Patience. A 5 speed S4 with limited slip is not something you see every day and your asking price is more than fair. You just need to find the right buyer.

Not many decent 5 spd S4s with limited slip floating around out there for a mere $8+k. Not to say it doesn't have potential for having some tlc to be a nice driver, but it'd be a perfect candidate for becoming a track car. That buyer could care less about interior color, dash pads, or minor body dings & scratches. Although burgundy interiors are not my 1st choice(kept me from buying a nice 86.5), I don't think I'd worry about switching out the interior to black. Not at your price. Give it some time. GLWS.

I honestly think it's priced too low and that can actually hurt the sale process.

your car is worth more than your asking price SB approx 12,500.00 with the black interior

I assume that you mean it's gone down?
It does seem priced a bit low, although the cosmetic defects (which would include the interior colour for me) will cost a fair amount to put right.
I personally would have changed the interior colour to black, if it could be done for a reasinable price ($2k?) and would provide an interior in good condition, of which the front seat are a major part. Interior work is expensive and justifies a chunk of the pricing below what a nicer example would bring.

In excellent condition the car is surely worth way over $15,000, like maybe even $19,000. So you're saying it has over $10,000 worth of cosmetic issues, it is priced way down with junk cars.

944 price for a 928S4 ?!!
Well-kept '87 944S's with 94k are asking high $7k with working a/c, good paint & recent belts.
Gotta believe your dad's LSD shark manual will be swept up by the weekend.
Is Cali market really that slow or just saturated?
PS: that burgundy/red looks rather unoffensive.. glws

Black with a burgundy interior makes it much more interesting than black/black - that will detract from the value big time - not original!!
The car is easily worth $15k+. Be patient and do not bother with craigslist. Sell on eBay for starters to drum up interest and be prepared to wait for the right offer and relist it a few times if required.
I am with Hacker the low price is detracting from the real value and scaring serious buyers away.

I saw this car on CL last night and thought it looked pretty nice, the bumps & interior don't bum me out at all, and I liked the price. What's the deal with the fuel pump?
I would have be pretty hot on this, but I've got a big date with the tax man this month 😳 ... I'll have to see how that shakes out first. If these guys don't convince you to double your asking price, and the interested guy in this thread doesn't bite, I may come check it out.
