Good luck with the sale AO!

The 928 still looks great and I know it was a blast when I had it.

The picture below was from the PCA Sebring 2007 event with Mark A. driving the Coca-Cola 928 being followed at this point by John Veninger in the silver 928 stroker motored monster he built up.

If anyone is into 928s and wants a track car, this one is a sure bet to have fun with and also fly the 928 banner at the track. It will surprise a lot of newer machinery.

Cheers.

Hi Constantine! Thanks for chiming in.

Yeah, the Coke car is really quite impressive. About as fast as a Cayman S - actually faster in the turns, but slightly slower on the straights. The car is super well balanced. I added the big wing on the back which helps immensely with stability on fast tracks like Road Atlanta, Road America or VIR. Oh, and I promise, you WILL get complimented on the sound. It really sounds AMAZING!

Here in the lower left corner you can see the reservoir mounted on the X for the left rear strut. The fronts have their reservoirs in the front cowl next to the accusump (don't think I have a pic of that). This makes them easy to get at for adjustments.

SOLD!

This thing has been chasing me around the country... I remember it at Sebring when I was doing some DE's and Constantine was racing and developing it and ripping around with Veninger and I think Mark Anderson? Not sure but it might have been at Sharks in Daytona?

Anyhow, for a relatively low cost of entry I can get back on the track and do some DE's and have some fun!

I will need a good gearbox in the near future so if anyone has one laying around give me a PM...

Woo Hoo!

Thanks Andrew!

Dave

P.S. Cant wait for a Road America event!

Yep, going to a GREAT home! Very happy for this transition. Will assemble all the spares, and haul it up to you in the next couple weeks. Road America is a great track. But don't discount Grattan. Much closer and also a blast! Then there's VIR, Mid-Ohio, Pitt Race, Gingerman, and more. Was just at Road Atlanta last weekend (not with the Coke Car). You will have so much fun!

Thanks again Andrew, I am really looking forward to playing with this beast!

Take your time putting things together and I'll take your advise on alternative tracks. Gratten sounds fun and a good place to get back behind the wheel and see if my skill set is still intact. It's been a long time since I've driven on the track so we will see If I've got what it takes... ADRENALINE! And calm use of it...

My wife said before I bought it: "Oh cool, I like red and Coke, buy it". Amazing gurl!

Dave K is putting a tranny cooler together for it and I've got the word out to source a 5-speed for when this one goes BOOM!

Did catorce sell that monster motor he built?

I already feel lighter and my step has quickened!

Sure do, in your trailer cinching down your beautiful Japanese spec 928.

Glad to see this happening and can't wait to hear of the continuing saga with this 928 racer.

AO deserves a medal for rescuing it from the parts bin!

Enjoy!

The Black XX8 car is actually the only U.S. Widebody 928 GT 5 speed, so its a real outlier...

And A.O. absolutely deserves a medal for saving this car, I will do my part to be a good steward. And to keep the dust off of it periodically ;-)

Did this ever come to fruition? I'd love to be able to write off my adventure via one of our companies and even modest sponsorship dollars from Coke would be validation!

(haven't finished reading the thread yet, in case its already here).

And of course, how would you like to be my instructor for the first DE event this summer? Where and when is it, and can the car get its tech inspection before it gets delivered?
