Has anyone going from east coast checked enclosed transport rates. I have received one quote from Boston to Carmel.. Intercity quoted $2295 one way. Any one going from the east coast get a better rate..still waiting for quote from Reliable transport.

At this rate it will run ~ $4500 to go out and back.

That sounds about right. The choices are careful, on-time, and cheap-- pick any one or two. Our story is here: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...ml#post8300790

Here's the list of applicants to date:

Mark Woudsma CA 1981 Grand Prix White 5 speed
Chris Papamichael LA 1982 Arrow Blue Competition Package
Roger Tyson TX 1988 Guards Red CS/SE
Don Epstein NY 1990 Linen S4 A/T
Bob Voskian MA 1990 Guards Red GT
Chris von Pechman CT 1993 Zermatt Silver GTS 5 speed
Jim and Sue Corenman WA 1993 Black GTS 5 speed

All of these cars are exceptional. However, I have a few holes to fill, and am really hoping the power of Rennlist can help out.

I NEED!:
1) an OB - '78/'79, phonedials, no spoiler add ons
2) 928S - '83/84
3) EURO - Any year
4) 32v S - '85/'86

If you have one of these cars, or KNOW ANYONE who has one that is show worthy, please email their contact info so I can speak with them. I thought I had until the application deadline (June 1) to collect all the cars I need, but I'm being told now that if we want our own class (8 cars) that I need to have apps submitted ASAP.

Thanks eveyrone!

Bob, I am quite sure we have access to a private enclosed transport provided through Europa Macchina located in Lewisberry, PA. That is where my shark is stored through the winter months. I believe the transport can hold up to four 928s, so if we can get 2 additional cars aboard along with ours, round trip cost for each car would likely not exceed $3,000. Let me know if interested and I can obtain more definitive information for all who may be interested. Don

Don, if your motor carrier can swing through New Orleans at that same rate, you could pick up Chris P's '82 to fill another slot.

I'll donate a razor, and you can use the garden hose for a Scottish rinse.. If all else fails, as you're an unclean masser, we shall load you in the horse trailer and drop you off at the equestrian center. (No one will bat an eyelash at the horse trailer, but you may have to whinniy once or twice).

The lodge (where the PBC is held) is a 5 minute walk from there..

I think Adam has that covered Rog...
When you arrive at the event, you will meet at a pre-designated location, where you will exit your car and a "replacement" driver will be used (typically some old stuffy 911 owner) who will proceed to bring your car to the event and he will interact with the judges. You can then enter the event as a "visitor" thereby not affecting the "quality" of the event

LOL

Absolutely not, unless you prefer that..!!

We can always put a wide brimmed hat on you, trade your loafers for paddock boots, and pass you off as a groom!

Believe it or not, many owners of entrant cars at Pebble run around in T-Shirts and shorts on from Monday to Saturday. Sunday is usually a no no if showing at Pebble as the rules are a bit more set.

Anyway, in Pebble, there is a good to great chance it will be foggy and about 15C in mid August.. You will not be in your T-Shirt and shorts for any amount of time, unless you are at an event in the valley such as The Quail, which we usually attend on Friday..

There is so much to see and do that week in August, there is no way you will get to every event even if you did several things every day for the week..

(I'll keep the extra pair of paddock boots ready for you in case..!)

Cheers
