Default Tool Prices at Lowe's

For our USA folks -if you haven't checked the tool prices at Lowe's lately, it might be worth a look. The prices have dropped quite a bit. Generally Kobalt tools are good, with a lifetime warranty. For an example, check the sets of 1/4" sockets for $9.95...

No affiliation.

I have had great luck with kobalt tools. Just as good if not better than craftsman now

Where are they made?

Are any tools actually made in the USA anymore?

Be sure to check the discount area at Sears. Just bought a $150 torque wrench for $35.

at our local Lowes it would appear they rotate which socket sets are on sale (generally 50% off). so I have almost bought a complete collection of all sizes for really good prices. No complaints yet as they appear to be as good or better than my craftsman.

I picked up a set of kobolt @ lowes open end/ boxed in wrenched. Metric and standard. Came with a set of regular length and short wrenches for 40$ last week. Just over a buck a piece.

I've yet to break a Kobalt tool.
They also practically give them away on clearance. I've bought $30 to $40 items such as socket sets for $3.00. Whenever I go into a Lowe's I always walk through the tool section looking for the yellow tags and visit the clearance aisle.

Didn't know they had sale specials like that, thanks. BTW, Harbor Freight has perfectly good torque wrenches, all sizes, on sale now for $9.95. Really. I picked up another 1/4 incher for my airplane work. A&P mechanic, 79 5sp

Craftsman and Kobalt are the best bangs for the buck IMHO.
