Guys, I did not "set" the parking brake. I used it instead of the regular brakes for the final stop. I know about pad transfer, and would never do that.
Oops, my bad. I forgot Porsche uses a drum for the parking brake. My VW/Audi roots showing.
I could DEFINITELY hear your car from my house over a mile away from the track. Sounds great!
Nice lap times too. Great improvement over the last time out.
The video highlights how useless the 928 gearbox ratios are , basically a 1 gear track (3rd) with 1 shift into 2nd .
Albeit a lot of fun though .
Actually, the gear spacing is quite normal.. same as if you had a C5 corvette out there and its six speed. The coke car could use a few more gear changes if it was urged too. its a relatively slow track though too. 3rd is only good to about 110mph and 2nd is good from 50 to 80mph range. Those are solid speed ranges that allow the 928 to use its relatively flat HP curve well. in fact, it utilizes its hp as well as more modern cars like the GT3 or caymanR, keping its average HP from shift to shift in the 95% range.. even when the GT3 and cayman get into their 4-5th gear change at .85, they only gain 1HP average, so stil in the 95% of peak HP over the entire gear speed range.

gear spacing of the GT3 is .8 vs .72 (resultant RPM vs redline) of the 928 generally.
