993TT Girodisc 2-piece slotted rotors with big blacks in 18" wheels with 295 rear tires. Rears are S4/GTS with Powerslot slotted and coated rotors.

since the offsets are wrong on the 993turbo front rotors, are the GTS,
C2 turbo, S4 offset type hats? and the 993T rotor size?

I'm running this setup with 928MS caliper adapters and dont have any clearance issues between the rotors and ball joints. Are they close, yes, but there are no contact marks or noises and I've driven the car a few thousand miles since doing the brakes. Carl checked them when he installed them and I checked them again a couple months ago.

I have always said if I had the excess money, I would get a custom large ceramic braking system for it. I remember saying I would like to see the glow those things do under heavy breaking and hacker said you would never see that on a street car, well now you do, technically not a "car" buy still impressive F1 like braking glow on these STOCK ceramics

We own the best looking car but the brakes are the Achilles heel, looks and performance. I have a LOT to do before I get to improving the brake situation and only a custom setup up front is the way I would go as I like my spindles.

oh well

Going to S4 brakes is a huge improvement and if you choose GTS calipers you have a solution Audi puts on the 360 hp S8 with 400 kg more on the hips and way faster.

S4 are not that much better, BUT GTS Big Reds are! But again that requires a spindle change which is major surgery. I want to find adapters that would allow a bolt on solution of really NEW brakes that not only look good but STOP GOOD>

From memory I believe that S brakes are around 135 ft from 60-0
GTS big reds are 110 ft from 60-0

The Best cars of today are stopping at 90 ft from 60-0 which include the 991 GT3 (which I tried to buy

45+ feet of stopping distance is big. The feel must be great. My departed Ford Fiesta ST did 105 ft 60-0, such confidence in stopping

The current RECORD HOLDER is 86 ft by the Ford Mustang Dark Horse

I wonder how the stopping distance is actually measured. Seems like there is going to be some reaction time involved, which I would think could vary.

On another note, I recently made some adapters for one of our guys to adapt Lexus calipers and Boxster Rotors to the front of his 928. I think there is something about it in this forum fairly recently since that is when I finished up the second set for him.

Edit: I bumped the thread about the adapters I made for Wes.

Don't underestimate modern tires, I think the 928 will yet stop way faster!

Jerry you must have read my mind. YOU were one of the guys I was going to mention that could help us out with adapters for some of these new options.

You and some of the guys if any here work with software and 3D printing!

more thoughts later

never have, I just finished watching this video where he goes into TIRES and their effect.

I don't know how much weight I give to Tires. ALL THE TOP cars have similar BUT different manufacturers, so not the exact same compound.

AND MY FIESTA ST did not come with trofeo RS cup tires and yet stopped at 105 which is VERY good.

Very good tires and VERY good brakes would probably bring our 928's under 100 ft.

What we need to do is find a REASONABLE option

These pics are from YEARS AGO when my 928 was in storage and this is what amused me.

NOT REASONABLE

still pricey

getting there

look at the name, YES this is real

Carl used to sell something called the GT1 a 2 piece 355 cross drilled steel disc MADE BY BREMBO

I do not have the price and I do not know but assume it reqd a spindle change.

I want the best option w/o a spindle change, just using adapters
