Rear Wheel Well Liners for 91 GT and S4
I had completed the development of the Rear Wheel Well Liners for the GTS cars and have installed and sold several sets. The way I developed them was to have a common inner half that would fit all of the 928s, 78 thru 95, and then separate outer halves for the earlier cars from 78 thru 91. The only stage of the development for the earlier cars that remains is the development of a mounting bracket for the upper rear of the Liner on the right. There is almost nothing in the car to hang a bracket on, or at least nothing that readily presents itself as with all the rest.
What it kind of looked like was one version for the GTS and another for the earlier cars. However, there is likely to be some further development for the earlier cars before the S4. That is based on the absence of mounting points at the lower rear on each side of the very early cars that don't have the little angle bracket, or more specifically the points where those mount. I'll likely have to develop something for those areas also. So that makes two versions of the set for the early cars before GTS.
However, there is another variation that presents itself and that is in respect to the 91 928. Those cars, both GT and S4, so far as I can tell, have the same mounting points in the wheel wells as the GTS, but have the narrow body at the rear. (Even though the 91 S4 has the GTS mounting points, I don't think they came with the GT Liners.) What this means is that with the forms I have for the early Liners and the GTS mounting brackets I can provide a full set of Rear Wheel Well Liners for the 91 928.
These liners will be the same price as the GTS, at $900 per set plus S&H which will be about $75 to most domestic locations.
Send me a PM if interested or contact me by email at:

Here are some images of the basic liner I developed, this one I think for the GTS. This liner is shown without the sound deadening material applied. The inner half of the 91 liner will be the same as this one, except for some very minor adjustments I think I made in the form after these pictures were taken, and the difference in the outer half will be difficult to see even if they were side by side.

Jerry, I need a set of the rear liners for my 928 Spyder. It's a '79 but doesn't have the standard rear fenders since it's a convertible. I'm running an 18x10 wheel with 65 offset, 15mm spacers, and a 295/35-18 Nitto Invo tire. Do you think I have enough width to fit the GTS liners in there? I understand I might need to do some customization, but that's OK.

Only part of it and they will not be shipped clipped together as shown. The final product has Mass Loaded Vinyl covering much of what one might call the "outer" part of these but which is actually the inner part--that is the part next to the car rather than next to the tire--then also included is a bunch of fender clips to hold the halves together in the car, the mounting brackets including 8 aluminum brackets that mount to original points in the car and that the liners then mount to, some screws and U-nuts, some drill bits and special pliers that I made to remove the fender clips, some plastic washers for doubling mounting holes, some instructions, and just about everything that is needed except a drill motor and some ABS glue.

So, just starting with these liners in your car they may not be able to be mounted. Then there is the problem of the shape of the outer halves. If your quarter panels/rear fenders are not any wider than a pre-GTS, I suspect the GTS outer halves could be trimmed enough to fit the different shape of your wheel arches, but probably not so if yours are as far out or farther than the GTS.
However, I suspect I can adjust my form for the GTS outer halves so that they could be formed wider and then trimmed to fit your car.
I think the conclusion is that I can easily form some liners that can be trimmed to fit your Spyder, but mounting them is going to be dependent on my yet-to-be-designed last bracket, or even the three that might be needed for the OBs.

Hi Andy. Welcome to the Board. Where are you? Domestic S&H is about $65. The full set for both sides is $900. I am in the middle of making 4 or 5 sets right now, but have been limited because or very recent serious lower back surgery. If we can stay in touch and as soon as the surgeon will let me spend some time in my shop with heavier projects such as these, because the forms are quite heavy, I will be able to form and finish another set. That is likely to be in about two months, but I'll know more after I meet with the surgeon later next week.
This weekend I'll be doing some of the finish work on the sets on order now and on gathering the miscellaneous parts that go with them. I may even have to make some more of those since I don't recall just what my inventory for the brackets is; and I am out of the Mass Loaded Vinyl that I use for the noise control. I'll be ordering some of that later this week.
If you are out of the country the S&H is going to be quite a bit.

Hi Andy. I got your email also. The answer is that I have not yet taken the opportunity to go around shopping for the best shipping cost to Hong Kong. It is still on my list of things to try to do when I can move about a little better. I can drive pretty well, but when I get to places it takes me quite an effort to walk to where the answers might be.

I'll be driving thru Grand Junction in mid August and would like to pickup a set of GTS wheel liners.
Would that be possible?
