So I finished putting the rubber surrounding round the window frame and got the door mirror and electrics connected back up on the door. Then got the window hoisted back up and cleaned up. Looks nice and sharp. I did have an issue with the corner piece of trim which I bought new from Porsche, it didn't fit properly and got completely bent out of shape which was a bit annoying but is relatively minor

Now that the major body work is done and you have labeled it as a GTS - what are your plans for the engine? Build up what you have got? or swap out anything? Are you looking at a stroker or a supercharger or turbocharger? or other somewhat milder performance enhancements (exhaust, cams, ECU tuning etc)?

Hi Alan

I am going down the route of tuning the stock engine first before considering a stroker because if I get enough of an improvement with cams, headers, inlet manifold and fuelling then I will probably be satisfied. The power number I think will work for me is about 400 hp while maintaining good torque. i think a worse case scenario with these mods would be 370 and at best 410, either way it will be fun to find out.

It would be nice to have 500+ and I love the idea of saying I have a 6.5 but ultimately I don't want to make it to challenging to drive, however saying that I do have a spare engine to use for a stroker and have done a fair bit of research on building one.

Underside of the bonnet, now I need to install some sort of sound proofing - more research required

Go with 1/2" aircraft nitrile foam smooth side out - fits well - looks good. Use 3M 80 high temp spray adhesive.

http://aircraftproducts.wicksaircraf...ng-foam/sp-500

This stands up to the heat and engine chemicals well - mine is 11 years old in Phoenix, AZ - super hot climate - still looks absolutely new. Much better than the original material - aircraft spec fire retardant.

Here is how it looks on - easy to add vinyl decals to the smooth side.

1 - When first installed in 2006
2 - 11 years later - still perfect (including the decal)

It feels like the hard work over the last year is starting to pay off.

I am trying my best to be methodical on the details. I am now proud of the slam panel, I replated the bonnet catches and other hardware to bring them up to scratch. I think they are looking pretty good. Now I will be lifting the bonnet to show them 😂

Marti looks great. I am just up the road in Kinross. It would be good to do some photos at the new bridge when you are back on the road?
