Road Trip! Providence RI > Fort Worth TX via Hershey, and Athens TN
So, I bought a semi-crashed, semi-running 85 down around the Cape of MA. Flying out Fri am to collect it, and starting the journey back SW friday afternoon.
Proposed route: 195 to Prov RI, 95 to Port Chester, 287 around the Apple, 78 through central PA with hopefully a stop at Hershey on Fri night. From there 81 to the SW through VA and into TN with a stop in Athens overnight. Then squiggle up to I40 though Nashville, and into Little Rock, and 30 home.
If I'm going by you, wave or something. Hope I don't break down with anything fatal. I've got a box of spare stuff, and some tools so all l need now is some luck.

Good luck Doc. Hope you can make Hershey. You know where we'll be, so stop if you can. Weather should be good so we'll probably be out late.
Here's my # if you want to give us a heads up.

My brother runs my dads truck shop off of exit 86 on I81. Near Wytheville. If you have issues they have a roll back and a lift at the shop. No knowledge of the 928, but thats what you would be there for. Hopefully it wont come to this, but call, email or PM if you need.....ph three three six for ought eight 4165
I actualy live about an hour from the shop, but if needed could help out.

Doc,
It appears that Hershey is about 350 miles from Providence. That might be a good run the first day depending on what time you get away. I haven't ever driven that part of the world because I was too young when I lived there and the earth was still cooling, so I don't know how fast the freeways are.

Thanks guys, may be stopping if things go sideways. Sight unseen but I know the lights and brakes work!

I'm about a mile off of 95 in CT at exit 70, in case you need a pit stop. Got a bunch of tools including lift bars in the garage, and a guest house if you need an overnight. Plus an almost-ready-to-start '85 in case you need a part (s) to get you home. I also have a truck and trailer in case you need a tow in the local vicinity. Six one seven four four 8 nine 8 five 3.

Good time of year to swing by and see Worf and Maineporsche though!
Used to be a solid group of 928 folks in that region, to bad you have to turn and burn for South. Cape is also nice pre-season as it is.
Hope there is a travelog/blog/thread in the making here...and don't forget to pre-plot the little nodes of expertise in case of emergency pit!

Well folks, this will become a bit of a travellog, I'll be posting along the way some depending on what trouble I run into.
BTW I don't have a first or last name, and my forum moniker is at least as strange as me. It's a long story, best left for OT. Oops, I can't go to OT as I'm not a real live member.
Since I work in the bowels of technology, and actually understand what the whole internet thing is an does, names are ephemeral as can be.
