I bet you will also need a new boot around the gas filler and likely the pipe attached to it that directs spilled gas downward.

Roger always has great stuff, but I want to keep my car as close to original as possible.

'78 would have the chevron shaped flap. Not sure whether anyone reproduces them, I bet 928 Intl will have a couple used ones.

Mine hangs from the top of the opening and covers the cap, rather than hanging down and protecting the paint as others show. It's as-delivered that way.

Meanwhile, Rob's picture history of gas flap evolution is missing the most current version from his GTS. Perhaps he'll update the thread with that image.

Good memory, Dr. Bob, had forgotten that version.

Default Gas cap door pin?

Anyone know how to remove this pin?
it doesn't look like its screwed into groves in the two hinges.
it looks like it has two "flattened" ends which I am hesitant to try to "round" or pull thru the gas cap door hinges.
the goal is to separate the gas cap door to re zinc/yellow chromate the mounting hardware/pin
