Possible Part out (Engine/Transaxle for Sale)
I have this white 88 that a bunch of work has been done to in different stages, and right now its quite mechanically solid in some areas, and still in dire need in others.
It need a complete repaint, and I am not sure I have the bandwidth (or patience) to do it in the near future for various reasons.
Essentially, it would be great car if it was painted and I replaced the shocks, motormounts, breaks, and finished the interior. Same old ****.
Anyway - the drivetrain is in quite good shape apart from new seals need on the oil pan and probably rear main seal. I was thinking about how much I could get for:
1) Greg Brown rebuilt automatic (total miles on unit, 85k, rebuild has maybe 5k on it) I have the reciept I think, but we all know it was done right.
2) TT
3) Engine with 85k miles. New timing belt in last 5k, water pump, cam cover top end gaskets, etc. I would/could include anything needed like manifolds, ecu, wiring harness, etc.
Transmission - about 4k.
Engine - 3k
TT - 500
I have very nice grey leather seats front and back, center rear glove box, suspension.
Right now, technically, the car is running, but its sat for a while. I have two new-bearinged rear hubs to put on to make it drivable across the country if needed.
If I paint it, I have a mid to high teens 928 to sell, but lose a year of project bandwidth on things I actually WANT to do.
I am in San Diego. The other option is to sell the car as is for 8500, which would include quite a few spare body parts, some primed, some not, and I would replace the rear hubs. It has 18's on it right now, tires are not good.
Sunroof is primed, so its not installed. Front fenders are sandblasted.
Seeing as how it just took me 2 months to build a cabinet to put car parts... IN, I am not sure I see a clear path on finishing this car for the profit I need out of it.

I can get some. What pictures would you like? Just general area stuff?
No. The Tire that gets eradicated when the power is on is the inside tire only.
Sill cover trim - I don't know what that means, sorry.
I think I have a net somewhere. Are they according to year?

My brother has one (an '89) but the transmission is not rebuilt. He will let it go for $8500USD in a heartbeat. I know it sounds unfair but most people are not willing to pay much of a premium for a project car if the transmission is rebuilt. From your description the car doesn't sound like it's complete. That's why I suggest it to part it out then, the rebuilt transmission will worth more than just a used one.
