Anyone have an idea on what the VIN would be for the first 1979 produced? Drew's car #1 car starts at 00011, but would the first '79 be 9289100001?

I found this one today. (Not looking for it, was looking for other parts).
From driver door jamb sticker: VIN: 9289200110 Date: 8/78
Red, 5spd, 43k on odo.
Motor and tranny intact. S4 spoiler attached! (Not in pic)
No significant damage, except rust, so not sure what killed it. Possibly flood.
(I didn't see this thread until tonight, so I didn't know to look for the tape. I can go back if someone really wants to know.)

The first production cars should be 9289100011 for the RoW and 9289200011 for the US/Can market.

For production cars, they have started with:
- 011 from 1978 to 1981
- 051 for 1982
- 061 from 1983 to 1995.

You may find lower numbers for prototypes and pre-production, but so far, I know just one 0001

My 1979 is a German delivered car. Bottom of my glove box is a well faded "4839", which matches the production number of 129 4839 on my original registration "Fahrzeugbrief". VIN: 9289102661
