Default Tire Compressor type by year

I'm having trouble figuring out which of the black plastic case tire pumps were supplied with a '90 928 euro. I understand that 911s got the pump plus inspection light as of the 964 in 1989. Is that true of 928s as well, i.e. no inspection light up to '88, and inspection light afterwards? Was there perhaps a difference between models or NA vs ROW?

More generally, has anyone compiled a list of the things that are often missing nowadays - pump, jack, sunroof handle, seat winder, pliers, tire lock cap tools, etc. - by model and year?

Sorry, can't help you with your question.

This is what's in my 88S4, I think it's OE Porsche but no idea of the model, early 911?

I have the same pump with my 87 but mine had a second inner box with printing on it. Apparently for cars delivered to North America the pumps were removed prior to shipment than added back at the dealer. That's why the pump type is less constant over here then it is in Europe. Not sure if the same method applied for Asia.

Sorry this is all I know and really doesn't answer your question.

Thanks all for your input.

OK, so I'm confused. I knew that the early pumps were different, but since I have seen pictures in later cars like this in an '89:

I thought the pump was the same as in the 911 of the period. A Google search mostly shows these black-cased ones.

However, based on the comments above, I looked at the '88 and '90 Owner's Manual:

and the small black-and-white pictures/drawings seem to show this one as shown on Theo's site:

Could it be that there was a wide variation based on what dealers chose to put back in as Adam suggests? And as Adam implies, I'd ideally like to find what was used in the Japanese market for my '90.
