Is it a large challenge to pull speaker wire into the doors thru the plastic channel?

IME it's unpossible without taking the door panels off.

It wasn't really hard.

What I found to work well was a thin spring steel wire (fairly rigid) would go through the plastic channel. With a hook in the end of it, I could loop the wire over the hook and pull it through the tube.

I had zero success trying to push the wire through. It flexed too much.

And I agree that it's probably not possible without pulling the door cards. Or at least the effort of doing it that way is more than pulling & replacing them.

Ok..coat hanger it is...its on the list of things to do soon now.

coat hanger is what I used. not to bad I just took my time. no hook on the end I just taped the wire to the hanger and gently pulled it through the plastic.

before you remove the door panel,
just see if you can access the sheath via the armrest openings ,
you may be able to fish the wire through without door panel removal just the armrest.

Guessing that the speaker wires will ultimately attach to speakers you are installing. You --may-- be able to fish for them through the speaker openings if no crossover connections are needed. Otherwise the door panels will be off for terminations. At that point you can fish new wires through the plastic duct with no issues. Dress the cables to the door and door panels so they don't get caught in the window mechanism, and that means the door panels are off.

It's easy, and as everyone else posted you need to get the door panel off.

When I installed Hans speakers (yes door panels removed), I had a very hard time pulling new wire through the channels since I was using thick KimberKable. Then I took a trip to Home Depot and discovered Klein wire pulling foam lubricant. Great stuff and the foam dissipates in about 10 minutes.

The aerosol can has a long tube you can shove up through the hard plastic channel for applying the foam.

it's not so bad no coat hanger no ...lube ....... this probably isn't the best place to say no lube ....

Continuing the lube theme, you can in fact use your favorite personal lubricant for this task, with no worries about petro-based lubes that might otherwise deteriorate the cable.
