The super tones are loud and sound like the original horns should have sounded - AND they fit like the originals (and last rather well). Avoid the too cheap options...
Am I testing at the correct points and is my meter
When the probes are not touching anything the meter reads 1
on the correct setting to check for this ?
If it is then I am fine since I am getting a 000 and 001 on each horn, but one doesn't work !
You want to be on one of the settings to the left (Clockwise).
Depending on the meter, it should read something like "Open" or "x" or "-" when the probes aren't touching each other (should be in the manual) and "0" when touching.
I always touch them quick to check when I turn it on because mine is old and sometimes the probe wires break loose.

Joe Blo use the diode setting. the display will show 000 if the leads are shorted or if the circuit is complete.REPLY

So if it is close to 0 when I test these two points on the horn then the circuit is fine ?
If only one horn works when depressing the steering wheel pad, then I might have a bad wire which gets to my other horn ?
To test for bad wiring, would I have to remove the horn pad on the steering wheel to test continuity from there to the other end ? Or is there a better way.
Both horns are connected to the same thing - if one works the other should work too... you can simply parallel them up. Practically - swap the connections first - if the same horn still works then its the other horn that has the problem not the wiring. If its not easy to resolve - high quality horns are not that expensive - I'd just get new ones...

Thank you Alan, I will try that it might just be broken wires going to the other horn. One last test and then I will pas to an alternative which i already am ready to purchase.
Anyone replace their OEM horn with an aftermarket horn with more presence?
A deeper/bolder/louder more masculine bellow?

Did you read the thread? Hella Supertones are available on Amazon for ~$40 a pair, plug & play, mount the same way as later year stock horns (not sure about early trumpet horns), much louder assertive twin tone sound.
