What is a 1990 944 S2 Worth at the Moment?
I am considering buying a 1990 944 S2 with about 100,000 miles that appears to have been well maintained and has had some suspension upgrades, racing seats, and a harness bar. Can some of you S2 owners give me an opinion on the current value of the car? My gut feeling is that they guy is is thinking more with his heart than his head and is asking too much for the car. Any comments would be appreciated. Regards.

Cars with racing mods that make them of fairly specialised interest can be hard to value -- each one is it's own proposition, and generally being a more specialised market, a seller has to be patient to wait for the right buyer.
Therefore, impossible to give a sensible range without a _lot_ more information. I would not consider buying a track modified car unless I knew it's owner and history quite well.
Are you looking for a track car primarily? If you are looking for mainly street this one probably isn't a good choice.

Depends very much on the car but a good place to start is with what 931guru said.
If the car has been well maintained with documentation, has desirable options and is in overall great shape it will obviously be worth more...but even at that, NIC any high-dollar mods...it's probably around $9k tops....much beyond that and you're getting into territory of boxsters, 968's and tuned Turbo S's .
It makes me sad to even type this....S2's are fantastic cars for the $ !

S2 Value
I agree with 931guru 6-8k although it has some upgrades and track ready modifications that's about what it is worth. try and make yourself a deal and enjoy it the S2 is a blast to drive.

Sounds like a good ball park. Go with your gut and after you buy, forget the +-1000 stuff as you are going to drive the heck out of it (I hope, for the car's sake) and have to keep dribbling money in to keep it together. It is an old car after all.
Mine, likes lots of attention and I like giving it. Keeps me out of trouble. And regardless, maint. costs are still cheaper than the depreciation on a Cayman S.
