CRAP, i have '84 doors.... um, 2 questions:
1) does anyone have a list of parts differing betweein doing an upgrade on 85.5+ doors and older ones?
2) there's this UGLY ridged moulding on the like b-pillar part of the door (vertical) - can that be replaced w/ a late-model style (smooth) piece??

the problems i meant: the handles becoming inoperable. theres a plastic thing inside that breaks and wont let you open the doors from the outside. were the same inside parts used for the 968 door handles?

Porsche made one of those arms with a locking clip on them. I got one and have had no problems with it. I dont know if the 968 handles use the same mechanism, I would assume so.

For those wondering if you can still get in, you can! Just contact Jeff at Sunset on the details provided. great opportunity! Keep them in your garage for next seasons paint job if you dont want to fit them now... These things will always be in demand, you cant lose. They go for as much as $260 on eBay often.

My driver's 944 handle has completely failed. I am planning to order the 968 handles, in the hopes that this will fix the problem. Do the handles include a new mechanism, or is the difference purely cosmetic?

I guess it depends on what you term a mechanism, please give Jeff a call on the number supplied, or email him, I think he is back today or tomorrow. You will get more complete information from him...

I have keyless entry. I dont like to scuff my locking mech! I know I am fussy... I wish I could afford the mirrors also. I installed a 968 temp guage and seosor in the mirror, does anyone know if there is provision for it in the mirror LHD drivers side mirror?
