Tight clutch fork?
Installing a new clutch in my '86 944 turbo, and one of the parts I threw in the scrap heap was my clutch fork (it was rubbish). Picked up a nice looking one on eBay, however upon attempted installation I've found the fork to be Very snug where it engages the throwout bearing. Wondering if it's bent and if so, is it permissible to grind about .5mm away on the insides? I can get it into place but it requires a tap of a hammer, and that simply seems too snug to me. All experiences appreciated

951 wider fork
I've done some research, and it appears the turbos utilize a clutch fork that's 1mm wider between the ears, in order to allow for a larger throwout bearing. So my question is, do I grind the one I have or do I need a 951 specific clutch fork?

Blitzen, I'm going through this now as well. The NA and Turbo forks have the exact same part number, except the turbo ones which are in fact ground 1mm wider to accept the bearing. That is exactly how the factory did it, so you should have no problem either. I would just take it slow and ground no more than needed.
