044 Pump -- ohms across pump terminals?
I'm replacing my 044 pump because it started making a lot of noise out of the blue. With nothing connected to it, I see about 22 ohm across the positive and negative terminal of the pump. Anyone have one sitting around they can check and/or know what the resistance is supposed to be? I'm replacing it either way, so just curious for future reference really.

Thanks for doing that! Is that 26 ohms at the end of the connector, and 50 ohms at the terminals??? Not sure how to make sense of that, unless I don't follow you multimeter readings/settings?

Tom,
my pump ain't makin' power. Runs down the highway, but shytte power.
I'm 94% sure the issue is the pump.
btw, have any board contributors heard about fake #044 pumps?
.....thinking out loud, i wonder if i got one of these.

Sorry about that. Mine was making a terrible noise, so I never got to the point where it affected performance. Yeah, lots of details on the interweb about the fakes and how to spot them. I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone say how well (or poorly) they work though? So far, the AEM pseudo-044 pump and remote relay have been working exactly as advertised, so appears to be a pretty good value if you are looking to swap it out.

I wouldn't trust the freebie Harbor Freight meter too much!
Counterfeit 044s are quite common. I just had a customer give me one for his project. Failed on every indicator - laser etched numbers in stead of stamped, no Steel threads for output side, output hole not deep enough....junk

Have you ever run one and confirmed they don't work like the real McCoy? Just curious, since sometimes knock-offs can be weirdly good...
