Hahaha

I always thought they were kinda ugly. But now I'm thinking about getting a square set of 8x16. Funny how they start looking better the closer it gets to decision time.

Early offset 16" turbo phones are not ugly. the late offset ones? yes, very.

Ah maybe that's the difference. I'd need late offset.

I looked at the 8x16 ET 52.3 and not too terrible. Lets just see if I can find a pair now!

They look pretty if you get them widened, polished and painted, especially the early offset.

You can only really see them when the car isn't moving....

Seriously though, what I do on the race wheels, put a 1/4-3/8" pinstripe in dominant body color, painted on around the rim lip.

Does that hypnotize the on lookers so they don't realize the fugly factor? Sort of like the start of the Twilight Zone with that mesmerizing spiral?

I think they look better when the car has no fender gap.

They are ugly, but as the picture above shows.. They can be tweaked to look awesome.

And they are becoming classic. So it works. I should not have given mine away.

I think the larger mistake is that you did not give them away to me. 😂

I agree, and think they also look much better with spacers on front and rear. The rear looked especially stupid the way they are tucked into the fenders, but it is my understanding that Porsche did that to allow for tire chains. I'm considering moving from my cup 1's back to my original phone dials....the older I get, the more of a purist I'm becoming.

As a member of the ugly rear tucked in phone dial club I agree.
I have the 16” versions so the front spacing is decent.

They could only be uglier if they had been designed by CITROEN.
