Default AAgh!! wheel fitment issue after "upgrade".

My son has done quite a bit with the 944T. It runs great with much more power. However, we did the LR brake upgrade kit to the bigger brembo up front along with the included brackets and now the wheel does not clear the face of the caliper. Our wheels are 1998 17inch C2 wheels. Anyone had this same problem? We were told it should fit, "its a kit".

thanks for any help or insight.

Is it front and rear wheels or simply the front? If it's just the front you may need a 7mm (1/4 inch) spacer on the front.

yeah, it was just the fronts. I think these are called "Big Black" calipers. I mean, so, is this usual? How could it be a kit without spacers? seems odd and was wondering if anyone else had this issue or maybe we got something wrong in the installation?

thanks in advance

Yes, unless the kit was packaged with the wheels, the wheel fitment would be your responsibility. The adapter, caliper and rotor comprise the kit.
Just a part of life when making "upgrades" with "racing" parts and mixing wheels from other models.

The wheel fitment is a simpler resolve than the braking function potentially being out of balance. I would be concerned that the master cylinder and biasing valve were appropriate for the upsized calipers.

It's not too bad just slapping on the "big reds" or "big blacks". There's room for improvement, but I've beaten on that setup for years and it works.

That seems odd. I assume you are running the C2 3.6 Turbo drilled rotors or the 928 GTS non-drilled rotors. I have the C2 3.6 rotors and with my 18" BBS RS-GT wheels I have around 1/2" clearance to the face of the caliper. Pictures would be nice, but as noted, a small spacer may be all you need.
