Default WTB: Aftermarket intake manifold

I am near done collecting all the parts (ported head, cam, turbo, headers, etc) for my spring project, but missing an aftermarket intake manifold.
As such, looking for a Speed Force Racing, Lindsey, or other intake.
I do have an extrude-honed intake that is my back-up plan.

please PM me

Lindsey Racing has a real nice intake … if i had more money than i need i would surely purchase one , just for the cool factor !
Although i have yet to see a used one on the market …

Cheers

Agreed - the LR unit is nice... Lart had one a few years ago, but I was too late...
So, the hunt continues.

Be very careful if you decide to run that. The extrude hone compound has proven impossible to completely remove from concave pockets inside the manifold, and extrude-honed intakes have destroyed many 951 engines. You really need to cut the intake open to be able to ensure that it is clean and safe to run, then weld it back up.

Not sure how good you are with a high freq tig.. but refresh 951 had all the parts listed on how he made his on his website. Unfortunately i have to rave in a “ stock” class but do have a 3l crank and eventually going to do the whole crazy stroker thing for a fun track car.. or if you know someone who is good with welding , get all the parts and fit them up, then have someone weld it. Just another option..

Yes, I had read about some of these failures and is a genuine concern. My extrude-honed intake was completed perhaps 10 years back and was used for several years by the PO.
With this in mind, I will also perform additional cleaning, as well as using a borescope to check the internals.

A big + to Lance Hayward. He knows what he's doing and a super nice guy.

Are there any dyno results for that 944 turbo inlet manifold? I asked the question on another forum, and he went quiet. It seems cutting the runners/injector mountings off of a standard manifold would be more cost effective.

Probably no real gains to be had with any of these aftermarket intake manifolds.

It depends on what you want from the engine. On a 3.1lt 8v we saw good gains over a stock extruded intake. This was at 20psi. iirc we gained approx 50whp at 25psi. Of course the head was significantly modified over stock.

We didn't run that much boost on track. Even with precautions, the head still lifted. But yes, you can get some gains from an aftermarket or workshop intake. However, my question remains...what does the OP want from his car? Going to a short runner intake will not necessarily be the best option for a street car.

Exactly! What RPM were you turning? I bet you also had a Dry Sump?
