I was getting serious offers when listing my car on the different FB 944 community forums.
ebay, bring a trailer, Craigslist are all options too.
Asking price too high?

Not really.... I'm asking 10k
I will loose money after bring her out from death..
I fixed her up good.
It was a barn find here in Phoenix... Not running.. No clutch... Broken clutch bearing.. Drive tube and shaft.
A mess. Was smoke silver I had a friend sprayed her alpine white.... Not a professional job but much better that what it was.
Did a lot of work to her... To make it runing again.
did it all myself.
New clutch.. Rod bearings.. Drive tube.. Cv axles.
Hoses timing belts.. Rollers..oil pan and gaskets.
Did some interior work to it...
She looks much better now... It's not finished yet but somebody will do it...
I can't belive I'm selling her now... But hey.. It is what it is.

Are you using the attached photos to sell it? That exhaust streak of burned oil on the driveway probably doesn't help. Suggests engine issues.
In the shot of the front end, is the hood closed, but not latched? Makes it look like a sheet metal alignment problem.
This would be my personal reaction to an ad using these pix.
FWIW, the latest Excellence mag market update suggests 10.5K for an average example.

I agree the exhaust streak/popped hood takes away from an otherwise fairly priced car but I don't know a 951 with a cat bypass that doesn't spew a litle soot on a cold start - it was much more pronounced with my 2.5" test pipe vs 3" full exhaust oddly enough.

Hmm. I thought the only year with the keyed alarm switch aft of the driver's door was 1986 but it has airbags and you state it's an '88?? I'm confused...

To the OP, GLWS it looks like a solid driver at the price.

I'll provide some feedback, since I actually had people show up to inspect the car last Sat, and had already transferred them 10k to buy it if it checked out.
Carfax shows a mileage discrepancy, actual mileage is over 260k and and then was last registered at 200k. Probably just a typo, but's a very high mileage car regardless. You should address the discrepancy.
Which leads to: complete lack of history or details on the car, there are no records from before you, no receipts for the work you did, no list of what you are including. On a high mileage car, this becomes critical. If you want buyers to disregard the mileage, then you need to have evidence (receipts or photos) to show that you've addressed all areas and that the mileage can be disregarded.
Original listing was 10k on FB. At some point you raised the price to 10750. I offered the original 10 and you declined., saying you did more work on it since so you want more money. On an unfinished project car, this is unlikely to help sales.
There's a whole lot of unknown on this car - you mentioned you had 80 interested parties, so I'm assuming I'm not the only one who was a serious buyer. Clear up the unknowns and someone will buy.

Lots of questions for sure on this car too much fuzziness for a price like that??? This is a $5k car right now unless you can prove otherwise and the perspective buyer can drive and get there pants knocked off ie. Get emotional about the purchase and give you $8,500 for it because paint looks that good???
but if it’s not running or running right, it has no paperwork and repaint is just decent then it’s going to be impossible to sell at this price and your going to be frustrated. I’m sorry that you may have more into it then this but these are just the facts. It could be a good candidate for a race car show the option codes and maybe it has LSD trans or sport shocks? What kind of calipers are on it? Tires are they new what kind? What kind of turbo is in it? Does it pass smog ok? Or have exhaust work done? Original in opened computers or chipped? Lots of things you can do here to fetch a better price then I’m stating there easy to do just take a few hours to document and inform perspective buyers. Also use a good digital camera as cell pics can be great for wide open shots but usually not tight frame automobile shots. Good luck with sale

op never returned wit more pics or they on fb? has op returned at all?
i've had a few 944-51 cars and i still have my first 944, it's got about 450-500k miles on it now (not original motor).. and let me tell you...!
I totally agree w boost feen; 5k car without receipts... even with receipts, if this is your first 951 and you did the work yourself, it's not going to get near whats claimed to have been spent on it... if you did the work yourself, you'll have trouble getting 8500 for it
when (if) did you replace the ODO gear?
another thing, if this has 200k or 260k and the torque tube has never been replaced or rebuilt... bad for clutch and can grenade the trans if too much flop at input shaft.
that said, if anyone knows where there's a running 951 for $5k PLEASE DON'T TELL ME i'll buy them.. all... and have no place too put them!

i'd totally buy the car for 4500 just for the interior but
just saw op said:
did it all myself.
New clutch.. Rod bearings.. Drive tube.. Cv axles.
Hoses timing belts.. Rollers..oil pan and gaskets.
i have 20 years experience working on these cars; BOOST FEEN... you right, no one in their right educated mind would buy this car... for much.
did he replace the rod bolts that aren't reusable?
did he tension the belt, or assume the auto tensioner works right?
what did he do about the drive tube? you can't rebuild it or replace it without pulling the rear suspension or worse -cutting the "crash and dont get squished" locking tabs that stop the motor from pushing back and crushing you in a crash.
any decent mechanic replaces anything that costs less than the labor to get to, on this car for these jobs that's a lot of little bs parts..
worst of all the oil pump drive compression ring (the oring) should have been replaced first belt service after 140k.
oh yeah, and that windshield is majorly cracked bc it's a cheap china unit too thin and wrong glue for the application.
if anyone needs an original sekurit w/s from the factory i know where a few are hiding.. PM me and i'll try to help.

Man, some of the comments are a little "biting". Have a little heart!
The car has lots of things going for it, but not perfect.
Some of the comments serve a purpose and are great feedback.
Best of luck with the sale! I'd love me a nice white 951, but one p-car is enough.
