Default 944 turbo build with mods need advice

Hello new here been lurking and reading lots. I am rebuilding a neglected 86 turbo car. I purchased a used Lindsey racing modded engine and have it installed and running so far. Just test started no cooling hooked up yet because I want thing correct like leaks and t things like that but engine sounds fine. Turbo shaft play is negligible and no noticeable signs of any oil in inter cooler or other areas. Here is what i know engine has - these are all Lindsey mods super 61 turbo p trim adjustable fuel pressure regulator modded dme with Lindsey chips dme Mafterburner Along with manual boost controller. I'm very familiar with mechanics but this is my first turbo car. The car came with No wastegate at all and I don't want to buy a used factory wastegate and then pay for a Lindsey wastegate when I can buy a tial. My problem is I don't know what spring to spec if I purchase a tial and I don't know where to start. I have no experience with this. I am going to run the 3" No cat exhaust. Can someone please help educate me on what I might need? Very sorry tor the long post but this issue is holding up my finishing this car. Thanks to all who may provide help.

Here was my solution. I cut off the four bolt flange to the factory wastegate and welded a V-band onto the crossover pipe. Its a Precision Turbo 46mm wastegate. The outlet of the wastegate dumps to atmosphere. I am using a 17 or 15 psi spring with a single port, since I only have one three-port solenoid. I'm going to utilize the dual port and probably lower my spring rate when I get to it. I'm no expert, but it works for my setup.

guess it really depends on your desired outcome and budget and skill, personally, i would recommend keeping it lindsey...
the tials have some advantages
the dual port gives you the most control

Yeah true as far as budget goes that goes out window when you work on one of these but at the same time buying a used wastegate for 250 bucks then turning around and paying Lindsey 500 bucks to make a new one is a pretty steep investment for "just" a new wastegate. Im not worried about the money but dang where does it stop. Lately im telling myself im inching closer to a ls3 swap money when your just getting one component in a system which is still old technology really. Just my opinion. As far as experience and skill im fine I've pretty much decided that it's going to be trial by fire and I'll just baptize myself in the turbo world. Im sure it's going to suck at times but I'll figure it out. I'll appreciate your help

Typically, if you use the Tial 38 wastegate as a dual port the spring in the wastegate does not matter. I use the softest spring (10 lb) in the dual port configuration.

Awesome! That's the answer I was looking for to reconfirm what I have read but was unsure about! It sure helps to have somebody confirm. I really appreciate it. Next does anyone have a body filler free 944 turbo passenger side fender? I apologize if I shouldn't have asked for that here.

You just need a passenger fender from any 944 for your 944 Turbo. Should be plentiful and cheap.

Something else to keep in mind on fender/wheel openings.
The 89, and maybe 88S, have a rolled lip. Helps on tire clearance.

Hey Lart, are you willing to ship 4 fenders freight? I know you're getting out of the parts and my 951 could really use some rust free fenders
